Brighter Lighter Sun Porch

The sun porch is one of my favorite rooms in my home, it's the first room you see when you come in the back door. A few years back I painted the walls this delicious shade of Apple Green, as the commercial said, "it's come a long way baby!" You can view the nasty "yellow" colored unpainted walls HERE, these before pictures are what prompted the "whole" change, goodness I'm glad I did. From those pictures you can view HERE the reveal of the walls after they were painted. Just a slight change don't you think?
 Over the course
of the winter I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish before Spring rolled in. One of those things on the list was to paint the wicker furniture. I'd painted it black many years ago. While having a cup of coffee out here one morning I decided it was time to go back to the original color. The black seemed to weigh the room down, taking away from the light and airy look it was screaming to have.
The color I chose was Heirloom White with a Satin finish by Rust-oleum, it took about 10 cans to cover up the black. The color is perfect with the new table from Wayfair, I'll have a post on that purchase real soon. The wicker is 20 years old this fall and has held up well, I'm loving the new and lighter look it gives the room.
The coffee table had been painted many years ago a cream color, over the years it turned a slightly dirty cream color. It got a fresh coat of paint and now feels as though it flows with the room.
When I began the journey of painting the wicker I decided to lighten up the possum belly cabinet. I purged many of the dishes, packed them away for my daughter and grand-daughter. I'm trying to sell the cabinet, I'm wanting to replace it with a white hutch of some sort something to house a few more of my dishes and flow with the room.

I edited the top of the icebox allowing the green bowl and rooster lamp to shine on their own.
Do you recognize the chair? I had just posted a couple of days ago about repainting the chair for a lighter look at the kitchen desk and then was fortunate enough to find some incredible counter stools and the chair for the desk, you can view that post HERE. The lighter colored chair works well out here, the cushion on the other hand needs to be replaced, something a little lighter and brighter.

 AFTER
What do you think of my lighter brighter sun porch? I have another project slated for this room, which I'm hoping to get completed before the hot temperatures of Summer rolls our way. There's a couple of new additions to the room I'm wondering how many of you will spot them. Until next time...  Have a great weekend!

Lynne you'd find me out in this room all the time! It's really a generous space and the apple green really was a great choice. The wicker looks great in white and certainly helps to keep the room bright and airy. Love the pretty shape of the back of the wicker pieces. You have some nice treasures there!

I'm in love with the green, Lynne! I can't believe how much you've done to the house and it looks great. More importantly, it sounds like it feels great to you and that's all that matters, my friend.

Your sunroom would be a favorite of mine as well. I've always loved open airy rooms and wicker is the perfect furniture. I like the white. Great job!

Looking forward to following along on more of your projects, lynne!

Love this little corner, Lynn. What a sweet space to sit and browse a favorite magazine.

I especially like the little birdie accents. I have a bird embroidery design and this makes me want to add it to a pillow myself.

Have a lovely day.
