I hope you are having a super day! It's been something else around here. Do you ever have days where everything you touch turns to mush? Boy, oh boy I sure do. First thing this morning, spilt a whole cup of hot coffee, then broke a plate. And to top things off tried to take my head off with the fan on while standing on the ladder to take these pictures. Note to self: next time turn fan off before climbing to take pictures. lol (No harm to thick head was done while trying to take pictures). OK enough about my day... let's get on with the party!!
We're so glad you stopped by. When we built our home I knew I wanted the cabinets open to the ceiling. With our high ceilings, I knew I would have another space or two to decorate. lol

Many of you know our kitchen was taken over by roosters a few years back. I've yet to tire of these beauties. I love the beauty of their tale feathers, and most of all their attitude! lol This beauty came from Hobby Lobby "many" years ago when they had their ceramic items 50% off. I originally purchased him for the end of the counter. However, our counter is higher than most and the grandchildren were quite small, I was afraid of him getting knocked off. So.. he ended here on top.
Do any of you have copper items in your kitchen? Remember a few years ago when it was all the "rage"? With the theme of our kitchen being French Country, I purchased a few "select" items and still have them displayed. I'm not one to usually follow a trend, I like to decorate with items I love and fit my personality. Isn't that what a home is all about? You..and your style?

This beauty sits on the other end. You can see he has a couple of visitors. :-))
Many of you might remember this stately rooster used as a centerpiece in a tablescape a while back. You can find that post here.
These darling little mice were made for me by my Uncle "many" years ago. Isn't his talent amazing?
I love the handle.
Another picture of the mice. Can anyone tell me why some pictures with a red background turn grainy or aren't a true red?
I have this little guy stuck on with putty, so he doesn't topple off. lol

My birdcage takes center stage in this vignette. It has a copper roof and is painted the softest shade of yellow. I've thought many times over the years about painting it, but after looking at it and the other colors in the kitchen I feel it's the perfect color. So, this little beauty won't get painted anytime soon. lol
Thank you so much for swinging by to see my "cabinet top" vignette. Be sure to swing by Barb's for a full list of those participating this week in Tabletops, Vignettes and Favorite Accessories. I'm off.... see you there.
hugs ~lynne~

O, somedays can be bad enuf for me to just go climb back in bed with a hot cup of tea and watch a movie!! :)
Everything looks sooo pretty and I love those cute little mice. And, the birdhouse is adorable..

Hi Lynn,
I hope the rest of your day was less accident prone. Your cabinet top vignette is great! I love the rooster of course and the copper kettle too. The birdcage is perfect up there. Hey, be careful up on the ladder girl trying to photograph! Take care.....--Delores
Hi Lynne,
Your amazing at this, I love the roosters, but my favorite thing is that copper pot! Oh, I want one of those! Beautiful Job! Cindy
Everything looks so pretty Lynne! Love the copper, roosters, and especially the mice. :)
sorry to hear about your trials bumps and tribulations, but very glad they were not so harsh that a true injury was sustained...
i agree, some days are just COZY days :)
always love seeing your roosters ms lynne...who cannot look at them and :) :)
Lynne-Sorry about the bad start! I love all your roosters! Are those little mice hand carved? I brought a copper tea kettle home from my dad's house and use it every day...but it does have to be polished since I use it! I saw beautiful roosters at Steinmart today--I just don't have room!
Very cute rooster! I love how you have the room on top of your cabinets to decorate. I wish I had that. It looks great!
Very pretty! Of course, I especially like the birdcage. :-) Your mice are so cute (because they are NOT real) - like the one peering over the edge.
Sorry for the mishaps - have those days sometimes also.
Absolutely gorgeous Lynne! I am growing more fond of roosters and such lately!
My mom is "DEATHLY" afaid of any type of bird - so my sister and I just never grew up with any type of bird-ing theme at all in our house!
I've slowly been using it in little spots here and there!
Love all your roosters and those sweet little mice!
Happy Monday -
I just love all of your roosters and the mice are just tooooooo precious. So cute. I do so agree about the birdcage. It is just perfect. Beautiful vignette. I love it. Hugs, Marty
I love the tops of your cabinets Lynne. The roosters and copper are favorites of mine. Gotta love those mice, too!
We had clouds late today and J says a mixed bag of tricks is moving in from the north...hmmm. He also said February is to be warmer with more snow!LOL
Hi Lynne, love your rooster..buy the mice soooooo cute up there..Hope Tue will be a great day for you with sunshine...take care..Pat
Hi Pat, did you get any of the weather last night or today? We had some spitting, but nothing too serious.. hopefully tomorrow will be a sunny day...hugs ~lynne~

Hi Darling Girl, I love that rooster and have him!!!!! Oh, this is soooooo pretty....I totally love it, Lynne!
Yes, I have almost taken my head off with a ceiling fan. Yikes....scares the daylights out of me............!!!!!
Hugs, Barb ♥
I have several pieces of copper and am still in love with it. I think it's like silver, it will never go out of style but it may not be the most popular person in school all the time. Love your beautiful rooster. At least you didn't mess up your photo taking when your head was banging about. Priorities.
Lynne,
It all looks so beautiful. I am one of those who still has her copper, as you can tell from my blog, I use several pieces of mine on a daily basis, I love to cook in copper cookware. Great rooster collection and wonderful birdcage.
Thanks for sharing.
Sandy
I'm afraid I had to laugh when I pictured you ducking your ceiling fan to get pictures for your blog! Isn't is crazy the different angles and positions we get ourselves into for the sake of the perfect pic? But let me assure you, your efforts were worth it! Love how you have decorated the tops of your cabinets. The rooster, mice and birdcage look terrific up there. I think your copper items tie in nicely with your wall colour too. Lovely vignettte!

Thanks for your sweet comments about my post concerning aging parents. I am one to complain, when you are dealing with your husband. I love your pictures taken in your kitchen. I have several roosters in my kitchen too. They remind me of my Grandmother and her "real" chickens when I was a little girl. Those mice are precious. Especially the one peeking over the edge of the cabinet. Love & blessings from NC!
I love your roosters and the mice are adorable! Miss Bloomers
I love all that copper! Looks so pretty!
I'm not one to follow trends either but once in awhile they sneak up on you! I never got into the rooster or copper thing but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them in other people's homes! My mom loved the roosters and they make me smile when I see them. Loved the vignette and I'm glad your "thick head" wasn't hurt by the fan while you took the pictures, lol!
Love your displays. Love that copper pot and the mice are just too cute. I have several roosters, too in my country french kitchen.
Those little mice are about as cute as they come. Beautiful photos of your pretty things!
Love those areas to decorate. Your little mice are so cute...and I like the birdcage...
Lynne,
I just love your roosters!! I've had some in my kitchen for a while now also and still love them. The little mice are adorable...and I love the copper pot too!! Thanks for sharing your vignette with all of us.
~Cindy~
what a warm and fun vignette! i love the copper mixed in. I think it can really add warmth to a room. And those little mice are just adorable!
Lynne, Fantastic....so colorful and filled with beautiful items. Each piece stands alone great, but together they are awesome.
Barbara
gM Lynne, I love your Rooster and all of your copper. I think copper is making a comeback so you are ahead of the game on that one. It adds such a warm glow to your kitchen. Loved the little mouse peeking down, a little whimsy is always great in my book,Kathysue
What a morning you had, I'd be tempted to go back to bed...glad your head is still attached.
I'm a lover of copper....your copper pieces are beautiful. The birdcage is awesome, and I love your roosters....
Take care of yourself!
Lynne your cabinets look gorgeous!
That is truly one of the prettiest roosters I have ever seen! Or should I say the *handsomest* He!
~Blessings, ~Melissa :)
Good Morning Lynne,
ROOSTERS AND BIRDCAGES,your a girl after my own heart. I've often thought of posting a blog just on my birdcages and bird houses. I seem to have an awful lot around here. Of course my Roosters multiply as often as I find a new one that 'needs' to come home with me. Darn little fellas follow me home all the time, at least that's what I tell my husband.;)
Enjoyed this post, as I do all of yours.
Hugs

Loving your bird cage Lynne!!
I love the light yellow & cooper colors together -verry nice!
Lynne,
This "table top" is lovely! Roosters are timeless and fit well into so many different decor styles. Those mice are the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. Your uncle has a wonderful talent.
Hope your rest of the day is fabulous!
Jane (artfully graced)
Thanks for dropping by Lynne! Love your roosters, copper and that bird cage up top. I hadn't thought of putting one in my kitchen, but it's a great idea. My ceilings are too low, I think, but I'll keep that in mind for the next house. I agree that the color is perfect.
We must have gotten "your snow". We got about 7 inches over the weekend with sleet on top, just to make it really special. We were suppose to get freezing rain today, but thankfully, we've gotten mostly rain. I hope the kids go back to school tomorrow b/c it's no fun having to make up the days. Have a great week!
If anyone in the world needs an ebook, it's YOU, dear lady. I love how you inject humor into your vignettes. And the vignettes are gorgeous. You have a magical touch.

Love the roosters, but those adorable mice stole my heart, especially the one peering over the side of the cabinet.

Your roosters are absolutely amazing I ezpecially love the one with the pale yellow chest, wow he would look great on my table lol...sorry it took me so long to get over here, I am sure glad I did and got to see your wonderful collection...Phyllis
I share your love of roosters! :) ...and yours are quite grand and beautiful! Love the little mice! They are precious! ~Hugs, Rhonda
Everything looks so pretty (and so clean!). I'm afraid if I climbed up to take pictures on top of something, there would be enough dust that it would show up in my photos. A fan blade in the head can really hurt (not to mention the shock). Can you tell I've done that before? Be careful. Of course, I love your roosters and your bird house. Those little mice that you uncle made are amazing and so fun! laurie
