~ Happy Mother's Day ~

The beauty of the New Dawn Rose growing on the arbor fascinates me more each day. The beauty is incredible. I planted one on each side a few years back, one didn't survive so I hooked onto it with a chain and pulled it out of the ground. I cut the surviving rose bush down to the ground, pulled most of it out by roots, for the longest time I thought it had died;  boy has it fooled me. This year the sight is breathtaking.

I must have gotten my love for gardening and being outdoors from my Grandma. She always had a huge garden full of vegetables and the two ends lined with all sorts of flowers. As a child I can remember picking Rhubarb from the East end of the garden. I think she would be pleased I've inherited her love for plants.
Mother has been gone now for 25 years, I lost her younger than what I am now. There isn't a day that doesn't go by I don't miss her. Although she didn't like being outside, couldn't grow a plant to save her, I think she would enjoy the rose I'm giving her today.
Mother, I love and miss you. I wish you were here to hold my hand
tell me the rough times will come and go the memories stay forever.
You and Daddy began your lives together.
The family grew over the years.
I was the 4th child out of 6. This is the only picture I have of my childhood. I'm not sure if the pictures were lost over the years or just not taken, I wish I had more.
