OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY AND DREAMING OF GREEN

It's Wednesday and time for Outdoor Wednesday hosted by our gracious hostess Susan over at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. Be sure to swing by to find a full list of participants. I'm so delighted to be joining Outdoor Wednesday for the first time this week. I'm looking forward to all the "great" outdoor spaces that await us. After putting in another long cold day I remembered about the beautiful pictures I had taken last summer. These are a few of the pictures I was going to post on RMS and for whatever reason never did. I actually had forgotten about them. I'm so glad I ran across them so I could share with you. It's a mere 7 above zero here promising to go to 0 by morning. So, anything green in my book looks pretty good right about now.. lol
The weigela bush I planted almost 12 years ago now. It's a bush that tends to take over an area, so occasionally has to be pruned back to almost nothing. I really dislike when I have to do that. I'm almost afraid I'm going to kill the beautiful bush off. But, each time I do prune it back it blooms out even more full the next spring.

I dug each and every hole for all these bushes the second year we moved here. Hubby was out making a living and quite honestly I love playing in the dirt and had a ball planning out what was going to go where. The flowering trees are Flowering Crab Apple Trees. The last 2 years they have bloomed out beautifully. With our temperatures taking nose dives every 2 to 3 days and then spiking to the middle 60's I'm worried about the blooms this year. I'm sure they are as confused as we are. :-)

The blue spruce to the left of the picture that's almost peaking at you was such a Charlie Brown tree when I planted it. It's now over 10' tall.
I hope you enjoyed the short tour of the side/back yard. There is alot of ground to take care of here. We live in the middle of town on 40 acres, so girls there are alot of Outdoor Wednesdays coming your way.. Don't forget to swing by Susan over at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ for alot more Outdoor Wednesday posts . Thank you Susan for hosting a fun filled day of outdoor spaces. hugs ~lynne~
