Field of Green

Gosh I hope I'm not tardy for the party. I just discovered Marty is now hosting this fun filled day. I'm so excited to be participating. Marty thank you for graciously taking over this fun party. I looked back through my archive of pictures to see what I could come up. After the holidays, I like to spruce the hutch up for spring, something more light and airy. I wish I had remembered to take a close up picture of the large pear in the center of the hutch. I have a weakness for pears as well. lol Guess that's a post for another day. lol
A candle for the soul sits on a marble base.
A few green apples play well off the green in the plate.
A couple of green birds hold court at the base of a picture.
Many of you know my love for bunnies. This one stole my heart many years ago. Made of a wooden texture he's quite heavy. I knew the minute I got him where he would reside. He's one of a few that doesn't float around the house. :-))

Some faux greenery and some old books always warms my heart.

I'm so glad you stopped by. I hope you enjoyed my vignettes in the hutch. Don't forget to swing by Marty's for a full list of those participating in today's party. I'm off myself, I'll see you there.

A Winter for the Record Books

Hello Everyone!
These past few days have found me chained to the desk with tax clients, coming up for air, I wanted to share a few shots of our last snow fall. This past weekend we got "hammered" once again with snow and ice. We officially hit a record snow fall amount for the season to go down in record books. Ugggghhhhh!!! Folks in our area are so ready for green!

Thanks for swinging by to say hello.

In Love With White

Susan graciously hosts Tablescape Thursday each week. A day of the week us dish lovers get to pull out all the stops. Susan thank you for hosting a fun party each week. Be sure to treat yourselves my swinging over to see all those participating.

I've recently fallen over the top "in-love" with white.. All white tables. The beauty to me is incredible. I'm sure you're wondering how come it's taken me so long. I don't believe I have an answer for that one. All I can say it's a good thing. All this white has been taking up residence in my pantry for quite some time. :-)) So, I went shopping with in my own home to put this delectable tablescape together.
An antique Meakin coffee pot will hold our coffee, bought at an estate sale many years ago.

A companion sugar bowl will hold your sugar.

The infamous Target birds hold court on the table for your salt and pepper.

The beauty of stacked dishes astounds me. Anyone notice what's missing? The bowl, I don't have a salad bowl for this set of dishes. That's a mission for another day. lol
Monogrammed napkins make my heart smile. Then again, anything monogrammed makes my heart smile. :-))

Many of you might be "heavy" coffee drinkers, so a dotted Swiss trimmed mug will work perfectly for you.

The tureen is something I'll treasure always. Mr. P found it out on a job many years ago, buried in the dirt. It was so crusty. A bit of soaking, some bleach and it cleaned up beautifully. Normally, I would say you might find a bowl full of homemade vegetable soup , or possibly some chili inside. This one has a small chip on the back side, so I would be afraid to fill it with "real" food. So, we'll just pretend it's full of something delicious. :-))

A few daisies grace the table as a centerpiece. Daisies you say, this time of the year? Why not Daisies I say. I think they help put a spin on the white table, a bit of whimsy.

Ivory colored flatware from Target works perfect. They look a tad yellow to me, but trust me, they are ivory. :-))

Let's finish our dining by candlelight.

I've changed out the mugs for tea cups. Thought the late evening called for a spot of tea to finish off our meal. The tea cups I've had for a while. I thought the design fit the occasion perfectly. :-))

However this Valentines Day finds you celebrating, either by day light...

Or by candle light. I hope you and your sweetheart have a wonderful day. I hope cupid shoots you with his arrow and you fall in love all over again. :-)) Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello. I'm off to see the other beautiful tablescapes. See you there.....

Dreaming Of Green

Tuesdays are graciously hosted each week by Barb from her great blog GritsGlamour. A party for Tabletops, Vignettes and Favorite Accessories greet us, full of inspiration and beauty.
With all the cold temperatures we've had and falling snow once again, I'm dreaming of green, and lots of it, as I'm sure many of you are. Saturday evening I decided to play with a vignette on the dining room table. Here you'll see some of my "favorite" greens.

A scented candle in a beautiful green candle holder.
Beautiful green apples.
Flowers on a plate make me smile, knowing some day, soon, we can have the real thing.
A vintage green bowl.
The heaviest candle holder I've ever run across. My girlfriend gave this to me for my birthday many years ago. Over the course of the those years, I've used it for many other things besides holding a candle. In a future post, I've put a slightly different twist on this candle holder. :-))
This tulip shaped candle was a gift from my daughter a few years back.
A few vintage green dessert bowls. The only thing missing is a few of my favorite chocolate pieces. :-))
Brought all together and you have a vignette full of some of my favorite greens.
I hope you enjoyed your stop today. I've certainly enjoyed having you. Be sure to treat yourself by swinging over to Barb's for a full list of those participating in today's party, Tabletops, Vignettes and Favorite Accessories. I'll see you there....
