A Cup of Tea Anyone?

Can you believe it's Saturday already? You know what that means. Pink Saturday. Hosted by Beverly over at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/myweblog/ You'll find a full list of participants. With all that was going on I almost forgot to take pictures. So, I hurriedly got together a vignette of pink. A few years ago I purchased this beautiful little lamp from a company out of New York. I can't remember the name. I only know it wasn't too expensive or it wouldn't have been
ordered. lol. I paired it this week with one of the tea cups out of the "small" collection I have. :-)

I love the unique shape of the saucer. Perfect fit for a spoon to rest on. Notice the missing spoon? Yepper, I forgot it. But the thought was there. lol

Everyone needs to enjoy a cup of tea and a good book on a windy Friday evening with temperatures outside dropping. Inside it's cozy and warm and a good book is calling my name.

Don't you love the fluted edge to the small lamp? It is so delicate and almost feminine looking. The black and white toile is a perfect backdrop to this gorgeous lamp.

I had to show you the beauty of the saucer. The roses are breath taking in person.

Even in a pinch you can throw a vignette together. I hope you enjoyed my contribution to Pink Saturday. Don't forget to swing by Beverly's at How Sweet the Sound, click on the sidebar for a faster trip. You won't be disappointed. Now, I'm off to see more pink..hugs ~lynne~

Lynne, That pink teacup is SO adorable-ably pretty!
I used to paint china a long long time ago. And those colors are so hard to get... if that is a hand painted cup and saucer... I would bet that there was at least 6 to 8 firings on that!
I'm really starting to enjoy pink Saturday!

Hi Lynne,
How beautiful is your Pink fluted lamp? It is so delicate and gorgeous. It looks really lovely with your cup and saucer beside it.

I may try to join Pink Saturday. It's probably too late this week though. I guess I can ask.
I got confused as to who hosted it and thought it was another lady named "Lynn" at a blog called "The Vintage Nest".
Gloria helped me out with the answer.

Thank you so much for the prayers. It really means alot to me.

Love the pretty lamp, but my favorite is that beautiful cup and saucer sitting on that "old fashioned" doily. I can never look at crochet work without thinking about my Mother.

Hi, Lynne,
As you might imagine, pink is just about my favorite color, and I love looking at all of the pink pretties here. The cup and saucer are so lovely, and just the right contrast to the toile. My dear mother-in-law was a professional china painter, and we have so many of her beautiful pieces...an embarrassment of riches, some might say. She has had pieces at the Smithsonian and the White House, and she was truly an inspired artist. As a heretofor (is that a word?!) unconfessed dish addict like so many others here, she nurtured my obsession beautifully! If I ever do begin a blog, I will definitely share some of her work early on. Thanks for a beautiful vignette to enjoy on Pink Saturday. Hugs, Barbara

I love the teacup and saucer. And I loved what your wrote. It really does take a moment to put together a peaceful setting. My mother is here this weekend, and I'm going to fix Tea for Two, with linen napkins, bone china, and candlelight. I would add the meringues, but we ate every last one. :-)
Hugs,

The lamp is lovely, the crystal looks like the pineapple pattern. The tea cup and saucer, I want it! Oh, sorry, I know its yours, I do love it so much! I got a set of pink rose tea cups for Christmas, but not a teapot to match. I am now wanting a set of pink dishes! lol We got a call and went to hubby's aunt's today. She had bought him a palm tree. We are going to have a place he can hang his hammock, add white rock, and sand, and other palms then he will think he is Florida! lol I got out in the pouring rain, and peek into a shop so full, I tried to take pictures from the window, to see if I wanted to come back. She now only opens by appointment. I called to see if I could get in the shop today. The mother could meet me, hubby's aunt said forget it she will never show up. Sure enough, thats what happened! I saw a pink set of dishes and linens, just about anything! Too bad!
