A Cabinet Re-do for Metamorphosis Monday

Once again it's Metamorphosis Monday. A day full of changes. Hosted by Susan from over at Betweennapsontheporch. Be sure to swing over by and check out all the wonderful make overs. Click here for a full list of those participating. Do you have a spot, corner or closet in your home that just doesn't have that finished feel? One of those that bothers you each and every time you look at it? Well, I admit it. I have a few. This one in particular has bothered me for quite sometime.
Inside you'll find a hodge podge of items. This definitely is "not" the look or statement I want to make.

Yikes! Even Springy items. For shame.
After taking everything out and washing it, I started all over. This is ok, but I'm not sure this is exactly what I'm going for.
Even the dishes have their own carpet ball. lol I think the mice might struggle just a wee bit pushing it around.
I brought out all the blue and white dishes. That made more room in the pantry for others sets to take their place.. lol

This darling little tea set was purchased many years ago at Cracker Barrel. Don't you love those sweet piano type legs?
More blue finery. The egg cup belonged to my Betty and means the world to me.
After bringing out the cheese bowl and adding the blue and white bunny I think I'm a bit closer to the look I'm going after.
Ahhhhh!! I think baby mouse is a bit shy! :-))
Then again maybe not. lol It looks like he's introducing himself to Mr. Bunny. :-)
Isn't this the truth? With the sparkle of the fresh cleaned glass...
After standing back and doing just a bit more tweaking.... I believe I can close the doors on yet another completed project. :-)) Thanks for swinging by to see my "little" metamorphosis for this week. Thanks once again Susan for hosting Metamorphosis each week. It gives me that added little push to complete my projects. Now, let's get going and see all the other wonderful changes... hugs ~lynne~

First Annual Rooster Party

The long awaited day has finally arrived. It's a Rooster Party through out Blog Land. Hosted by our gracious hostess Barb. You can click here to find a full list of those participating. I know we'll find all kinds of beautiful Roosters strutting their stuff. lolOne year ago today is the anniversary of the flooding we had in our Master Bath and basement. I'm so glad there's a party to attend, to take my mind off the memory of that catastrophe. :-))

Let's start in the sun porch. This beauty is nestled under an iron urn full of greenery and beautiful sunflowers.

This chest was purchased a while back at Big Lots. On sale for $69.00. The shape of the cabinet itself is darling, but the rooster on the front was the defining factor in this little cutie come home with me. lol
I love decorating with plates. The harlequin pattern adds a bit more excitement to the beauty of this rooster. Looks like he's getting ready to dance a jig doesn't he?
This darling plate sits upon the counter top in the kitchen. I carried this beauty in my shop for awhile. Naturally, it has be discontinued. :-(
This beautiful plate I also carried in the shop and once again, has been discontinued. :-(
Fronts of canisters.
These beauties even have their own metal tray they sit in.
I've had this lamp for quite awhile. He holds court in the laundry room. Each fall he's nestled among fall leaves, lights and gourds. This picture doesn't do the red and cream stripe shade justice.
Cute rooster pillow my daughter picked up for me.
Tops of another set of canisters.
This beauty sets atop the cabinets in the laundry room. Even has his own night
light. :-)
Metal piece I picked up last fall at Lowe's. On sale for $9.00. This also hangs in the laundry room.
This beautiful iron piece hangs on my kitchen wall. And last but not least the largest of all my roosters sits upon the top of the cabinets in the kitchen. I purchased him many years ago at Hobby Lobby during their 50% off sale. His colors are truly amazing. Thanks for making us a stop during this wonderful Rooster Party Event. Barb, thanks so much for hosting your First Annual Rooster Party. Now, let's scoot over to Barb's to visit the others participating in the party.. hugs ~lynne~

Red Toile Revisited for Tablescape Thursday

Thursday's mean Tablescape Thursday hosted by our gracious host Susan over at Betweennapsontheporch. Be sure to click here to see the full list of participant's and all of their beautiful tablescapes. Sometimes life gets in the way and you just get busy. This is a post I did awhile back and thought of happier times so thought I would re post it for this week's Tablescape Thursday. These photos were taken with the old camera so I apologize for the grainy look. I hope my skills have improved since then. lol

I have to say Thursdays are one of my favorite days of the week.. I get to take out the many pieces of china I have and play.. Mr. P. just shakes his head each week when I start this process.
My love of toile goes back many years. When I found this set of dishes it was love at first sight. I ordered them immediately from a company I purchase from occasionally.
This morning I cut the ends of the roses and then chose the teapot as the centerpiece. I think they're a perfect fit. :-) A while back I spotted these beautiful monogrammed candles. Thankfully, they had 2 that day. With our last name starting with "P" they had to come home with me.
With the teapot being used I chose to lay the lid to the side of the teapot. I think it makes it's own statement.

Close up..
I chose my gold chargers purchased last summer from TJ Maxx. They were a bargain at $3.99 each. I love the special shape of them. You'll also find the gold flatware.

Serving platter.
From above..
Oops... this one is out of order.. but oh so pretty. Aren't they gorgeous?

A heart shaped dish. Perfect for a table set for 2 on this special day.
I think the crystal dish is perfect for serving jelly out of for our rolls.
Close up..

I'm sure many of you recognize the vintage linens I purchased awhile back. I chose them today for the napkin.
Close up of the beautiful lace trim.

Be sure to stop by http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot/ . A big thank you to Susan for hosting another beautiful Thursday full of beautiful tablescapes.
As you leave today feel free to take a rose with you and give to your loved one
