Spatula Anyone??

Hello Everyone!
You all know I dance to the beat of a different drum. I like to do things a bit differently than most. I try to think outside the box. I know, I know.. sometimes I really think outside the box. lol Now, we all have to have something for our utensils, I know many of you have those wonderful drawer organizers. I don't have those and when Mr. P used to grill he liked to just to pull things and go, I on the other hand, like things a bit more organized than that. lol Seeing as he was the one doing a lot of the cooking I did my best to accommodate him.
Many years ago while visiting his cousins in Wichita we took off shopping at Hobby Lobby. First isle we hit... well, naturally the 80% off isle. And look what I found? These gorgeous silver compotes. I fell head over in heels in love with them. OK! So.. love is stretching it a bit.. but I sure did like them. lol I knew immediately they would be perfect for the utensils and satisfy Mr. P's little habit of wanting to pull and go. lol This week I'm happy to be participating once again in The Silver Sunday Blog Party. Graciously hosted by Beth at the Gypsy Fish. Beth thank you for hosting such a fun filled Sunday party. I have had a ball these past couple of weeks.
Now, a girl has got to have her scented candles around doesn't she? Well, this one does anyway. lol I am over the top with Paula Dehn's candles, they burn down smoothly and have the most wonderful scent. This one is Skillet Fried Apple, you know what a wonderful scent the real fried apples put off; Paula has done her best to mimic that in this particular candle. And naturally, it's red, so fits right into my decor in the kitchen. :-)) The first silver compote holds all the rubber spatulas, lighters for candles and scissors.

I love the handle and the hammered look of the silver.
I keep my mints and a bit of candy close by too! :-))
A view of all three compotes.
The second compote holds all the spatulas, rubber or metal.
Close up of second compote. Notice the raised grape pattern?
And last but certainly not least, this one holds all the spoons, wooden, plastic or metal.
See how handy they are? Just pull and go... lol
I know many of you don't like a lot of things out on the counter. These aren't that obtrusive and are decorative and handy all in one. :-))
Thank you for stopping by today. I always enjoy your visits. I hope you enjoyed my contribution to Silver Sunday. Don't forget to swing by Beth's at the Gypsy Fish to see a full list of all those participating. I'm off .... see you there.

~~I'm a Little Teapot~~

Welcome everyone, I'm so glad you stopped by.

Wow!! These last couple of days have been spent full of doctor appointments, tests, more tests scheduled for Mr. P and "major" computer problems. I'm hoping between Dell and AT&T I'm finally up and running more than 5 minutes at a time. I'm happy to be participating in Pink Saturday graciously hosted each week by Beverly.
A whole day full of beautiful pinks. I know after the cloudy few days we've had, I'm looking forward to seeing all that luscious beauty. :-))

This is my handle, this is my spout
With a glow of a candle and a great magazine

Dreaming only of roses and upcoming Spring

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope the sun is shining where ever you are. Be sure to treat yourself by swinging over to Beverly's for a full list of all the beautiful pink participants.

~A Thief In Broad Daylight~

Hello!! I'm so glad you popped in today...
More Christmas you ask? No, my friends. My goal on Sunday after the fog lifted and the temperatures rose, to get all of this stuff put away. With our temperatures being below zero for many days in a row and barely reaching freezing all of this was frozen in place. This was still out and way past time to be put away. If you look closely under the table, you'll see what stopped me in my tracks.

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday. Graciously hosted each week by Susan for us to share our outdoor beauty.

Yes, my friends, we have a thief! Right here at our back door. I've wondered why the dog food and the bread were disappearing more quickly than normal. This is our culprit. This baby possum has been helping himself, probably for awhile now.

Scary looking to me..

I wander what he's looking for?

Sniffing the sides of the pan, I'm not sure for what, but he spent a great deal of time at this small chore.

It didn't seem to matter how loud or how long I tapped on the window, nothing detoured him from eating. :-))

It's almost as if he enjoys having me watch him eat. Seems he's finally reached his goal. All four paws are in the pan. His momma sure didn't teach him any manners did she? Doesn't he know you don't put your feet on the table, but under it? Guess in his case that might be a bit difficult, since the pan is on the ground. lol

Yes, he's still watching me watch him.. lol

Our staring at each other lasted about 45 minutes. I was pretty glad to see he finally got his tummy full and took off, just around the bushes to hide, but none the less he left this area so I could get my work done..lol You see I wasn't about to go outside until he was done and moved on. Yes, all of this pictures were taken through glass. I'm brave, but not that brave.. lol

Thank you for swinging by today and saying hello. Please swing over to Susan's for a feast of outdoor spaces.

hugs ~lynne~
Just a little post it here. On Tuesday afternoon while standing at the kitchen window this little scamp came back... man alive they must be hungry. Once again he went right for Murphy's dog pan. I "almost" feel sorry for them. It's been so cold here for so long, I know they are scrambling to find something to eat, but I sure wish he would look elsewhere. Not too crazy about being scared whit-less when I walk out my own back door..lol

The Elegance of Silver and Vintage Lace

Welcome Everyone! I hope you've had a beautiful weekend. With our temperatures warming up, and the lane clear, the shop was busy. Now, time for a visit with all of you. :-)) I'm linking up today with Beth from over at The Gypsy Fish Journal. She has graciously started this new meme. I just discovered it the other day, so glad I did. I am amazed at all the beautiful pieces of silver you blogger's have, each used in their own unique way. Now, I don't have a lot of silver, would love to, but what I do have, I love and cherish.

I chose to put together 2 vignettes using two different pieces of silver. I chose the letter holder in the first vignette. I think the crowning glory would be to have vintage post cards in the holder. Aaaahhhh... a dream for another day.
Or the addition of a quill pen. Come to think of it, I used to have one.. hmmmmm I feel a mission coming on. :-))
The second piece is the ink well. Anyway that's what I call it. If any of you know the actual "true" name I would love to hear from you.

I can also see this used as a candle holder, can't you?

I hope you enjoyed my "little" contribution to Silver Sunday. I'm so glad you popped in to say hello. Beth, thank you for hosting this wonderful event. I've had a ball. Be sure to swing over to Beth's at The Gypsy Fish Journal for a full list of those participating. I'll see you there...
