~ The Blzzard of 2011 ~

Many of the area is blanketed in snow, with heavy winds. For the first time that anyone can remember the City of Kansas City has declared a City Wide Emergency not to exceed 3 days, in order for the city to be able to maintain the safety of it's residence. Visibility is measured in yards not miles at this time of the afternoon.
I took this picture this morning at 10:00 A.M.
This was taken at 4:00 P.M.

White out conditions are very present in our front yard.
Drifting is very evident.

Heavier snow once again.
No, I'm not being mean to Murphy, I had to let him out of the garage to be able to do his business.
You can see the height of the drift on the front porch.
Definitely ready to head back to the garage.

I-70 Eastbound and Noland Road was shut down for awhile with a 15 car pile up that had 2 tractor trailer rigs involved, that road is now open and moving slowly; I haven't heard if there were any injuries, I pray not. They are telling everyone to stay in unless you have an emergency that has to take you out. KCI is shut down, our small town is a ghost town with everyone inside. Signs are now going up : 1-70 between here and St. Louis has officially been closed in both directions. I pray you all are inside safe and sound. Until next time....
I apologize for not adding the picture link to link with Susan from A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. I think watching all the snow blow around taken my brain to mush. :-)
