~~What A Difference You've Made In My Life~~

What a difference you've made in my life
What a difference you've made in my life..
You're my sunshine day and night,
What a difference you've made in my life.
31 years ago we said I do...With your love of planes we ventured off into the wilds of the skies and new adventures.
Through the cockpit of the plane you showed me a whole new world.
The first 5 years of marriage were spent with you driving over the road.
We visited Cypress Gardens in Florida during a layover.

From driving over the road we went into the dozer and loader business. Oh how you loved pushing dirt.
Always the helpful husband.. :-))
And the romantic... ;-))

You've always loved having the grand kids around.
And having birthday gifts.

Always so appreciative.
You've made my whole life living with your smile..
From our very first Christmas..
Flying right into ....
This Christmas..
We've taken this ride together with our family around us.
Our lives have brought many changes over the course of these past 31 years. A lot of ups and downs. More joys than sorrows.. I wouldn't change a thing and would do it all over again.. Happy 31ST Anniversary Darling. I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow..

I wouldn't have missed it for the world
Wouldn't have missed loving you
You've made my whole life worth while with your smile
I wouldn't trade one memory
Cause you mean too much to me...
I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I love you darling

~~It's a Winter Wonderland~~

Hello my friends, I hope you all had the most Joyous Christmas ever!

The weather man predicted a White Christmas for us this year, as predicted Mother Nature cooperated. My daughter and the grandkids were due down around 5. The winds had started picking up with the sleet getting more heavy by the minute with blowing snow mixed in. The mother in me really kicked in and I was starting to worry. Thankfully, they made it in OK. After a wonderful supper, and gift unwrapping completed, we started to play Uno. We played through the wee hours of the morning with the sleet pelting the window. It was finally time to head to bed to wait for the big guy in red to show up.

This is what greeted us Christmas morning. The snow brings out the kid in all of us, even Murphy. I can see he's been out making the rounds. The winds were so strong, snow started drifting. This is was I found inside the garage.

The strong winds blanketed the front porch with snow .

Even the cushions were covered.
I don't think this wagon is going anywhere soon.

If you look closely, on the upper left side of the screen you'll see geese on the lake. Even though the winds have blown the pampas grass over, it's still serene looking to me.

We were pretty fortunate compared to many others around our area. I-29 North was closed for awhile leading to the airport, and folks were re-routed. Our streets are snow and ice packed and getting around isn't the easiest. Until Mr. P's son comes over to start Little John and clean out our lane there won't be any leaving for a while.
With the snow stilling coming down it's a virtual winter wonderland outside. With both of the grandkids still here the house is filled with laughter, Mr. P is enduring the extra noise and activity pretty well. What are your plans for the day? Me, well; I'll be playing Uno with the grandkids, or whatever else they dream up. lol :-))

~~A Candy Lover's Delight~~

I'm sure you're wondering what these pears are doing in the middle of a
Christmas post. You see this is a bit of a metamorphosis of sorts. This is what you may have seen on this end of the counter during Marty's Cloche Party earlier this year. She put on quite the party. You can click on her name to scoot over to her beautiful blog. Marty, do you have another one planned?? Hint! Hint!!!
Metamorphosis Monday is hosted each week by Susan . She graciously hosts this event with many participating. It's a delight to see what all of you wonderful blogger's have come up with for us to admire.
Curly ribbon and lollipops. What a wonderful combination.

A sugar cookie ornament in the shape of an L... hmmm wonder who that stands for? Topped with candy canes.. fit right in. Ribbon candy topped with ice crystals...
The candy cane garland I've had for a few years. I believe I got it at Dollar General.
A sherbet glass full of candy canes and lollipops. Doesn't get any better than
that. :-))

This fine fellow is a recent purchase. I just discovered the most beautiful blog. Around the House. Phyllis is a wonderful gal full of the most creative ideas. She recently did a post on A Tree for the Kitchen. She had the cutest Santa standing beside the tree. Oh my goodness my heart skipped a beat or two. You know how it is when you fall in love with something and it's screaming your name ? Come on now, sure you do. :-)) Anyway, she said she had gotten it at Kohl's. I immediately got on the website and ordered placed an order. It was half price and I got free shipping to boot.. now how can you beat a bargain and a beauty like that?? SO, Phyllis a great big thank you for letting us know where we could get this darling guy. I am absolutely loving him. My girlfriend stopped by yesterday and she loved it. Told me, "It's perfect!! He definitely belongs in your kitchen"! I have to agree..lol

This may be as close to having a gingerbread house this year as I get..lol

Did you catch the twinkle in his eye?

I sat the small tree in a trunk I've had for over 20 years. Yikes!! Does that make me old? Nah!! Just a person that hangs onto things. :-)) And to think I almost put it in the garage sale box.. lol The hanging crystal candle holder to the right of Santa, was one of the last gifts My Betty gave me for Christmas.
Help yourself to a peppermint stick.
Naturally, I would add a snowman or two some where in this vignette. These little cuties worked perfectly under the cloche dome. I borrowed the crystal plate and paired them up. What a perfect marriage it made.
As always thank you for swinging in and saying hello. Before you leave be sure to grab another peppermint stick. Susan, thank you for allowing me to join in on this wonderful event each week.
Happy Holidays!
