~ Kitchen Blues ~

If you're like me your home isn't feeling as full as it did through the holidays. Typically January is a long drab month, a time of organizing, planning and revamping our vignettes, and possibly seeing a new paint color on a wall or two.
I know you've seen
this baker's rack many times before. It's a great piece to decorate for the seasons and sometimes with changes in between. With the backdrop of red walls my beloved blues pop off the shelves.

I'm "thinking" about repainting the kitchen walls. The red against the oak trim makes the trim look too yellow for my liking. It doesn't seem to matter how sunny a day we have the pictures always seem to be washed out. Even though I purchased this piece of furniture specifically for this wall, I'm considering moving it to the sunporch for a while. That would mean finding another piece of furniture to go on this wall. If you look way in the back ground into the dining room you can see a buffet underneath the window. I originally thought it would be the perfect solution. I've measured about a dozen times, the wall is just way too short for the buffet to sit comfortably on this wall. It would allow more walking room between the counter top and buffet. In my minds eye it worked out perfectly. Hummmm doesn't look like I'm going to be moving any furniture anytime soon.
I'm seeing a cream color with just a touch of gray.  I'm not fond of true white walls, don't want to go too dark, don't want to go too light. Guess I'd better keep looking for the perfect shade huh? What would you do?
I think the cream walls with a hint of gray would make my beloved blue pieces pop even more, it would be clean, fresh and more up to date.

Guess I'm back to looking at paint swatches. Tax season is looming over my head so I've got to make a decision soon.

Hi Lynne! Oh, this looks wonderful! Love your blue and white and a change of color is coming? :)
I can't believe it but all of my Christmas is still up! My daughter's family was with us for 2 weeks and we've had other commitments and I just haven't had time to make a mess! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
