Guest Bedroom Remodel Begins

In my last post I shared the house is as decorated as it's going to be this year. Thanks to all for the well wishes, I finally got over the bug, it hung on for what seemed forever. I know many of you spent Thanksgiving with friends and family enjoying your fabulous meal of turkey and all the fixings.
My Thanksgiving
was spent moving furniture out of one room into another. Not such a pretty picture huh? Yes, it's real life around here.  Although it looks a tad bit disorganized and messy it truly isn't. Many of you wouldn't think of taking on a remodel this close to Christmas. I wouldn't either if my daughter and the grands were coming home. This year they'll be home in North Carolina celebrating the holidays on the beach.
To protect the carpet a layer of heavy duty plastic is put down, even with the carpet scheduled to be replaced, there is no need to soak the carpet with water and falling dirt sheet rock. I sure don't want the lingering smell and dust hanging around.
Yes my friends that's the nasty dirty popcorn ceiling of the last 18 years. Definitely time for it to go. The ceiling fan and low hanging light was also taken down. The height of the ceilings are 8', the light on the fan is just too heavy and dated for the look I'm going for.

The day was quite cloudy, I'm missing the stunning beauty of the impatient that sat on the small table all summer. It will be fun too look out of the new room to a new plant on the front porch come Spring.
 Ta-dah!!! All fresh and clean.
I had to share Miss Scooter wasn't feeling well and curled up on the extra sheets used to walk on in and out of the room. I think she had a touch of the doggy flu, she's feeling better now. Like with our children we don't want our pets not feeling well either.
I'm so glad you popped in to see whats been going on around my place. Stay tuned for updates, a lot has happened since these pictures were taken. I know scrapping popcorn isn't for some and not the most exciting job in a remodel, I truly am enjoying the process of taking my home from a "we" to a "me". The work has been great therapy for me. Have yourself a super weekend.
Fondly ~ Lynne ~

Lynne,
As much as I love freshening a room, I don't think I have it in me to scrape the popcorn ceilings.
They will have to stay until someone else has that done!!!
Glad you're feeling better!!!
I'll be watching for updates and a reveal!!!
Fondly,
Pat
