~ The Front Porch Gets A Touch of Fall ~

We've had a beautiful Indian Summer in our part of the country. After the extreme heat the trees and grass suffered terribly, it hasn't detoured the beautiful leaves changing, they are showing off their spectacular beauty. I was out and about late yesterday afternoon, wish I had my camera, {bad blogger}, the trees are gorgeous.
I love fall and all the warm colors, it always reminds me of my Grandmother and the great times we had growing up going to her home. It wasn't a fancy home, she didn't play with us, it was a home filled with love and the best smelling home made pies. Those are my best childhood memories. In honor of Grandma I
always buy a mum or two. She loved the bright colors of red and yellow. They always framed her huge garden, the infusion of color was incredible. This year I decided to decorate a tad bit of the front porch with some fall. Normally, by the time I get around to it, the season is over and it's put on the back burner till next year. I've only done a small area, each evening as I sit on the front porch with the dogs I feel her presence, I think she would have loved sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee and great conversation.

I've had this great armillary piece for a long time. It's floated from areas of the yard, to around the shop area, even made inside one year for a bit.
Using an urn for height, with a few bricks inside to weight it down I added Spanish moss as a filler and plopped the armillary inside the pot. I so love when a plan comes together. Wish I had dreamed this up, I owe those honors to Mary Carol. I first saw it on her blog, you can view how she decorated key areas of her gardens HERE. I think any fall display pops when you had a white pumpkin.

With the evenings turning chilly the fleece throw is handy for you to wrap yourself and stay cozy.

I encourage everyone
to find what makes
you happy and useful
Embrace it and
make it work
for you.
Hugs ~ Lynne ~
