Are Gollum's Mice on the Loose Again? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Happy New Years Day one and all, I can't believe it's a New Year already. I hope you had a fun and safe evening last night. Ours was a quiet one, even with the grandson here..lol. Papa and Little Man watched Chuck Norris movies..it was nice for them to have that special one on one time.. and Grandma , namely me, to start on a good book.. :-)) so far I've kept that promise to myself.
Have any of you made New Year's Resolutions? Or as I've been reading around blogland made your "bucket" list? I like that so much more than resolution. After all, if you don't like what's in the bucket you can just dump it out.. lol I'm not sure I've done either of them. I've made promises to myself. Is that the same thing? hummmmm One of the promises I've made to myself is to bring out some of the things I've had stored for awhile. Now, I know I have a lot stored. :-) Just think of all the fun sights you're going to see... I picked this topiary up early last summer at TJMaxx. I know you're saying to yourself, "does that girl ever shop anywhere else?" Well.. I do, just haven't thrown those names out there yet...lol.. The blue and white trivet was a gift from my daughter. She was in New Orleans last summer giving a seminar and knew Mom would love it. She was right. You all know how I "love" bunnies, and this one is a cutie..

Screeeeeechhhh!!! Is that a mouse? Is it moving? It can't be.. I thought they had all gone home to Gollums!!

It is a mouse... someone call ..... GOLLUM . Come and pick up your mice...please.....please!!!! HURRY!!!!

Is it moving? Will it hurt my bunny? Someone, anyone HELP!!!! Oh.. look I just saw it's tail move...

Oh thank goodness!! I'm glad to see Gollum must have called them home...

Well.. I hope you all go to your storage closet, under the bed, behind the couch or wherever else you hide your goodies, pull them out. Use them, enjoy them. Move them in from another room, the old will look new again! It's a New Year with New Beginnings. Go forth and conquer a new vignette... hugs ~lynne~

Hey girl,
Don't send those critters here! They are sneaky little buggers. I love your topiary from TJ Max! What else do you have stored away that we are dying to see, and just don't know it yet? I think you are holding out on us, girlfriend! Come on, come on...we're impatient, ya know! I'll be back to see what other goodies you got in that closet. :-)

I love all the things you pulled from storage, Lynne! The little mouse is cute. Reminds me of my little mouse under a cloche in the dining room.

Love your blue and white vignette - I got a sofa table from my mom for Christmas for the sole purpose of creating cute little vignettes of my own so I can play now!! I'll have some pictures to post soon ~
Those mice sure do get around!!
Happy New Year ~

Hi Lynne, I totally agree with the idea of "digging out the good stuff and using it." That's one of my resolutions too! Why do I leave out the Dollar Tree stuff when I have a lifetime of memories stored in cabinets??? I guess I'm afraid they'll get broken. But I've come to realize that I can take a picture of it before I put it out. And if I had to choose, MAYBE the chance of getting a few chips is better than never being seen at all. "Talk" soon, you are such a dear friend, and always full of such inspirational ideas!

Hey Lynne glad you stopped by my blog! I will add you to my list also.

I had my grandson on New Years Eve as well. He fell asleep before the ball drop and I could not get him to wake up to see it. The next morning he ask, why didn't you wake me? He's 7 and he is the highlight of my life!

I'll be back.

Hi Lynne...your new header is so pretty!...well, except for the mouse...nah, he's cute too since it's not REAL...Funny that you should mention moving our "stuff" around because when I was packing up Christmas, I started wondering what I had here & there before
...so I think I will shuffle some things...
Blessings, ;-) Bo

Happy New Year, Lynne! To celebrate New Year's Day, dh and I went to see "Benjamin Button" with Brad Pitt, a curious story in which a baby enters the world looking like ET. What reminded me of the movie is the scene where a mouse scampers by the shoe molding in a hotel kitchen. Hope Gollum collects that cute "not a creature was stirring" mouse. Fieldstone/Pam

Your topiary and blue and white vignette look beautiful. I too am trying to create something new mainly because I can't remember where everything went before fall and Christmas decor came out of their boxes!

Hi, Lynne!
Your blue and white bunny would feel right at home in my blue and white kitchen with my 2 Dedham Pottery rabbits (or in Mrs. McGregor's Tool Shed here in Faeryhollow). The mice are welcome to come, too, and I have little houses all set for them down at Crickhollow Cottage. My DH gave me a little pet brown and white mouse before we were married, and I named her Esmerelda. She met an untimely end when a friend sat on her on my dorm room bed, but I've always had a fondness for the little critters. We use live traps and take them down to the pasture when we catch one in the house. So... I'll take your's and Gollum's too (but the chocolate ones would be the best!) Hugs, Barbara

How fun to change things up. I have taken to putting things in storage instead of trying to put everything I own out. I was into country clutter but am trying to change to country not so cluttered. I love the bunnie but not too crazy about mice. Around here we get real ones!

I did pull a lot of my things out that were in storage. I moved things around. And bought a few things. I love.. playing with my treasures. Hugs, Terrie

A very wise woman wrote a column one time about saving the good stuff. She wrote and asked who are we saving it for? The most important people in our lives are our family and they deserve the good stuff. Not some stranger that has no deep or strong attachment to us. Why wait for company to put out the good stuff?

Use your best dishes, glassware, and everything you have put back for special occasions. Today is a special occasion if you have your family around you. Enjoy the things you have with the people that are important to you.

Lynne (lynnesgiftsfromtheheart) said...

Glenda, I so agree. Mother used to hoard her new things. Even though there wasn't alot of "new" stuff with 5 kids in the house. She would save them for a rainy day. I can't have out all that I love the house would explode at the seams, but I do have I want out and around me for my family to be enjoying now..they deserve the best. hugs ~lynne~
