~ The Dining Room Hutch

It's a glorious Fall day in our
part of the country. I hope
you're enjoying the same
where you are.
Last week I decided it was
time to do a bit of tweaking to the
dining room hutch. You know my
tweaking means moving things
around from here to there.
Not that there was anything wrong
with the way it was, I was just
needing a change. It began looking like this.
The small lamp sat more to the center
of the shelf. I added a few
books for height and interest.
The small clock was a gift from
one of the DIL's a few years
ago. She knows I "love"
clocks. Another texture
added to all of the glass and silver.
I truly love deer antlers, but they
can be rather cold looking
by themselves. To warm this
area up I added a book and
a set of glass trophies. The
beautiful silver warming set
was a Mother's Day gift
from my daughter.
The silver pheasants were purchased
last year from Nell Hill's in
Atchison. I didn't get a chance to
go to the Fall Open House this year,
{pout, pout} I'm looking forward
to Mary Carol sharing pictures
with all of us. A few more
books to flow with the theme
finishes off this end of the
shelf.
After taking the pictures I realized
the blue and white soup cup
was just too small, I needed
some height.
I shopped the house and came
up with the blue and white
vase, a new addition
to the shop decor.
With the cloche domes stored on top
flanked with the deer antlers
this is the way the hutch sits
today. I love the mix of the silver and blue
the books to warm things up and the
antlers to make me smile.
A treasure trove of memories.
I hope you're having a super weekend,
what are your plans? Have you
started decorating for fall, going to
wait, or are you finished and enjoying
all of your hard work.

hugs ~Lynne ~

Hey Lynne! I'm so happy i stopped by to see what you were busy doing today.Just Friday I redid my hutch too. We had our DR carpet stretched and had to empty it totally out. You have such a perfect eye for vignettes. It all looks so delicious! I am also loving the antlers. My husband used to be a deer hunter and I have several antlers he saved for me. I've been trying to incorporate them into my decor. Love what you have done. He also brought home several antlers from a recent trip. I am going to try and sell them at my fall show. Do you think there are customers for them?

The cobalt blue and white - you can't so wrong - so pretty! Love the hutch.
No Fall decor here yet - except for 2 pots of mums - one for each side of the back entrance and that is it.
Enjoy your weekend.

Lynne, the hutch looks so pretty, with all of the blue and white. The silver adds just enough sparkle and the antlers, just enough warmth.
You did a beautiful job!

Hi Lynne! Oh, I love seeing what you've moved around on your hutch! It looks beautiful! I'm showing my tiny little hutch today and mentioned you because I did make some reversible napkins and of course you were my inspiration.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I love all of your blue pieces! And the cloches on top. And the antlers... It really looks great and is so neat that you can use so many pieces that were given to you.

Have a great weekend!

Lynne,
I saw your comment about not being able to visit Atchison last week. Check my blog. I was lucky enough to be there on Friday and shared some photos and I will be sharing more.

Lynne, Your hutch looks great. I'm a fan of Mary Carol Garrity's, too and I was thinking how much your hutch made me think of her style.
Have a great week,
Babs
