~ All Hung Up ~

There's been so much going on around
here upstairs and down
I'm meeting myself coming
and going. Not a complaint
just a statement. I'm so used
to our lives swirling in circles, if it
didn't I'm not sure I would
know how to handle it.

 While working in the kitchen
the other day, I looked up and
realized I don't believe I've
shared my pot rack. Do you
still have a pot rack? A conventional
style? Or one with loads of
character like an old ladder
or even a pitch fork?
I've had mine a few years now. I love
the convenience of being able to
just grab and go while I'm cooking.
Sometimes I feel like it's
a bit heavy feeling and would
like to take it down for a bit
to see what sort of a
change it would make. Problem
with that is: it is so
heavy. I hung this myself about
5 years or so ago and
struggled to hold and hang
at the same time.

I love the storage shelf perfect
for displaying some of
my copper pots
and skillets.
 Love my Paula Deen pans
naturally in red. lol I've been
mauling over in my mind changing
the paint color in the kitchen. It's been
red for a very long time now, in fact
I just freshened up the paint in year less
than 2 years ago. I'm not quite
sure yet what direction I want to go.
I've looked at everything from blue grays to
lighter shades of gray. The problem
is the oak cabinets and crown molding, I
don't want to go too dark. Any
thoughts?
 Pot racks aren't just for
hanging pots. This candle
chandelier was a Christmas
gift from My Betty a few
years back. I love being
able to light a candle and
enjoy it's beauty and
the memory of
my beloved friend.

I would love to hear if you
still have a pot rack and
what kind.
hugs ~lynne ~

How sweet that the chandelier shares the space! I must tell you that when I first saw it, though, my heart just sank. When I sold my business, I sold every one of those chandeliers! I think I had 10 of them, and I stupidly sold them all. I used to call them "upside down wedding cakes." I can't remember who I ordered them from years ago, but I know they were a very popular rental item. Oh, well. C'est la vie! I don't have a pot rack, but when we remodel our kitchen, I have it in mind to include one! Yours looks great!

Lynne....I absolutely love your pot rack...what if you went with a creamy tan or yellow? the oak would go and the red would just pop? Just an idea...love the red, but I know my girlfriend is getting ready for a change for her too.....

I used to have one here for MANY years and just got tired of it. When we removed all the wallpaper from the kitchen and painted I took it down. It was just plain, in fact it was a glass rack really. I had a collection of copper and pottery that I hung from it and would decorate it for the seasons. YOURS is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! I am thinking it would look beautiful in the new house. So, where did you get it? I will have to look for something similiar. As for paint colors, I have light oak cabinets and painted a sage green and LOVE it. It is very neutral and looks good in any season. XO, Pinky

Lynne,
NO pot rack...sorry, but when you're 5' NOTHING you need a ladder to reach EVERYTHING!!! I adore all your copper pots, dear friend!!! The crystal on your lamp are stunning! I have a red kitchen (wallpaper) and I'm still pleased with it after ten years...just painted the dark mahagony cabinet white. That's a tough question when you have oak cabinets. I'm sure you'll choose something magnificient!!! Thanks for your sweet comment and visit today On Crooked Creek. Now that you know my height...you understand why I need "Mr. Ed's" assistance!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Never had an actual pot rack, but did did have a similar setup that I hung baskets, dried flowers, etc. on many years ago. I am not good at picking colors, but I would think a very light gray or very soft, pale yellow would work with the red. Listen to the experts NOT me. :-D
Thanks for stopping by. Wished daughter had taken more, but she had limited space as she was hauling a twin bed and 2 kiddos also.
Enjoy your evening.

I've always loved and admired pot racks, but never had a place for one. I love what you've done with yours and the chandelier. It looks great! I love how chandeliers are coming back in all sizes, shapes and put in any room....

I absolutely have a pot rack hanging over my little island in the middle of my kitchen. My island is portable..and I will never give up my pot rack. I know there are much prettier ones out there..and I believe I bought this on from PierI Imports years ago.
But..with the little Island being topped with stainless steel, my new sick in stainless and the pot rack stainless...I am going to be satisfied with what I have.
You are right...getting one of those up and getting it all even is not an easy task. I love yours. I also have a red kitchen it's also going to stay that way. I am not ready to give it up.
Your kitchen is lovely. :)
Hugs,
Mona
p.s. I've missed my daily visits...a lot!

Lynne your pot rack is gorgeous! (I pinned it hope you don't mind?) Love all your copper pans too. I wish I had the ceiling height to hang one as big as yours, but unfortunately my ceilings are pretty low. I do have a very simple pot rack hanging in the middle of my kitchen though, and I love having the pans right at hand. I also have hung a few baskets that I use often. I hope all is as well as can be with you my friend.I miss seeing you on pinterest. Where you been girl? Vanna
