~ Mary Carol's Fall Open House Part 1 ~

Mary Carol's 130+year Greek Revival met us in her stately manor. The house itself is so welcoming. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..

The line was fairly long but moved quickly, you'll notice I couldn't get pictures without people in them, notice the expressions, the wait didn't seem to bother them, it was so worth it. :-))

Mary Carol was very gracious to talk to each individual and have their pictures taken. I wish I had thought to have our pictures taken.

If I had a staircase I would want it to look like this. It was simply breathtaking.

The last shot is of her small powder room tucked underneath the stairs, small in stature it was difficult to get a really good picture,  it was so charming.
That concludes this bunch of pictures, hold fast folks there are still more to come. I hope you enjoyed these shots.

Thanks so much for posting these! I love them all, especially the exterior shots. What a lovely home. Wish I could have gone...but Indiana is a tad too far away. Maybe someday. I love her shops and have been to both.

I love it Lynne!

The first year we went, Jim had no idea who she was. I shopped, then we went to the house, then I shopped more, while Jim sat on the benches outside. He saw a woman walking toward the store, he had no idea who she was. They really had a great conversation. As we were leaving, there was MCG walking back toward the store with a stack of boxes. Jim said, I talked to her while you were shopping. I said, Jim that's Mary Carol!
When I dropped my camera, right before going to the house, the second year we went, I went on the tour and decided to go back with a disposable camera. When we got back, there was MCG on the porch. I told her what happened to my camera and I was on my second time round, so I could get pics. She said well get on in here!!LOL
She's fabulous!

These were great photos, Lynne. I love the pinecones hanging from the chandy and the lanterns attached to the windows....I think they are like the one I bought from her at the Holiday Mart last year! Awesome the way she used them. Of course, it's all fabulous!!!

She is totally gracious and makes everyone feel important...she's truly a class act!

Hope you had a great Saturday! dana

The dough bowl filled with greenery and a demijohn is a wonderful look. I'll put that idea to use with my dough bowl this holiday season. My next trip to Nell Hill's, I'll be looking to see if the ram's horn/hurricane, and the flat lanterns that will hang agains a window/door happen to be in her current store inventory. Come to think of it, I'll go look on line right now! Thank you for sharing your marvelous photos. I'll be watching for the next batch. Cherry Kay

Lynne, what a great tour! Thanks for taking us with you. I'm afraid this will probably be the closest I get to touring her beautiful home. How nice is she to open it up to everyone! Does she do that at Christmastime? Loved that staircase! Wow!
