~ Gentle Breezes ~

While working in the yard the middle of the week putting mulch down the gentle breezes were so welcoming. Anything for a break from lifting those heavy bags I stopped and took pictures of the beautiful Pink Weigela in full bloom. If you would like to learn more about Weigela bushes you can go here.

After our last huge snow storm I had my driveway fairy pull the railroad ties we put down  almost 14 years ago. All the weed-eating and painting of the ties was becoming quite the burden. Along with the ties I had  6 small trees struggling to survive, we pulled those and 2 other Weigela bushes. I put off pulling this one to see after a good pruning if it would survive, as you can see it did. I'm so glad I gave it another chance, the beauty when you drive in is wonderful.
Hidden in the shade of the bush we have pink and white blooms.

As I put the finishing touches on this post, we have humid temperatures, cloudy skies and the promise of rain all weekend. Perfect weather for me to be inside finishing up the painting. I have just a bit of the kitchen left to go and all the rooms will be done. Then I can concentrate more on the outside and sharing tons of pictures with all of you. I hope all of you are having a super weekend!

Hi Lynn, I love your photos of your wiegela. I also love to take photos with flowers against the blue sky. Gorgeous. I have three beautiful wiegela plants in my yard but they have finished blooming already. they were beautiful like yours. They have the most beautiful blooms but they don't last very long. I wish they would bloom longer. Did I tell you how beautiful your photos are? Smile.
Hugs, Jeanne

Your flowering trees are so pretty. I wish they stayed longer! I have a large tree flowering right now, and two other smaller ones getting ready to start.
The color makes such a lovely statement when you pull up my driveway too!
Have a great weekend.

The bush is just gorgeous. I may not get anything done if I had that to gaze at all day. Love the soft pink color.

Thanks for visiting! I am off now to drool over more of your beautiful blog. Love the Emily Post quote.

What lovely flowers. They would be so delightful for my senior mom's gardening projects. And perfect for her goal to create a butterfly garden full of lovely butterflies and flowers. Thanks for a lovely pink visit.

I found you over at Once In A Blue Moons Blog (I ADORE JAIN!) & thought I would pop over to visit someone new. Your blog is beautiful! I LOVE flowers too. And the columbines in a previous post made me smile as mine are blooming too but, they are yellow. And I bought some iris from Jain a couple of years back & the blooms this year have been stunning! Have a great weekend & enjoy all those flowers.

Hey Lynne, I love the old fashioned flowering bushes like Wigelia and mock orange and Rose of Sharon. My Mom has a wigelia bush and I remember it blooming here around the 1st of June. It was at the living room window and always looked so pretty from the inside. HPS
