~Robins in January~

My office is downstairs in the back of the gift shop, after being at the computer for so long I was desperate for a break. I headed upstairs for a fresh glass of water, as I was standing at the sink I noticed the drive way was full of birds. The robins caught my eye. Mr. P had to come over to confirm I was actually seeing Robins. I think he thought I was kidding, then again, he knows I don't know a whole lot about birds. lol This isn't a normal sight for us here in Missouri. I would like to think it's an early sign of Spring. Ok, maybe I'm just dreaming, sounded good didn't it? :-)) I took these shots through the kitchen and patio windows.

Hi Lynne,
I thought that they "went somewhere" during the Winter but they don't. They stay here:) It must be tough for the birds this year with so much snow here in New England. When I am able to leave my house I will be buying more seed for them:)

I think they live in bushes and shrubs...not positive. They are getting plenty of water, that's for sure. You are a sweetie for worrying about them!

Jane

We usually have some that hang around, but have to admit I have not seen robins recently. We usually have a flock of cardinals that hang around for a while this time of the year, but have only seen a few and not as often.
Enjoy your evening.

I never saw robins this early but I did hear that a lot of them don't leave for the winter. Never-the-less, it gives us hope for spring!!!

Hi Lynne

We went for a drive a couple weeks ago to one of our favorite parks and we too seen some Robins, i guess they don't leave...they must just hide real well. Most times we wouldn't see them until spring. Lovely pictures Lynne.

Great shots. The cold doesn't seem to be bothering them. ;-)

I'm certainly ready for spring and I hope they're a sign but I'm afraid they're just lost since it's still January! We had a heat wave in the 30s to low 40s and I went on a spring cleaning frenzy! Well, you guessed it, today it snowed again. I knew it would but I was still sad to see it come. Oh well, before I know it it will be July and too dang hot for me.

Thanks also for being my good blogging buddy and friend! You're right, we are on the same journey. I'll try to be better at keeping in touch.

Strange to see robins on the beach. Oh well. So, it is. Hopefully, they have a warm place to go back to.

They look like they are eating the snow...very cute! We don't have robins here, but I wish we did!

I think robins are one of the first signs of spring. Lovely pics.
