After some deep soul searching
and a lot of praying
the decision was made to
find my Murphy a new home.
The decision was
along and painful one to come too.
I loved him enough for him
to go to a home with
children and a yard
to run in, instead
of being on the porch all
of the time.
So.... two weeks ago I played
with both dogs taking
loads of pictures watching
them interact and enjoy
each other's company.
The love they had for each other
stood the test of time
while they shared
the same home.
The interaction between
Abbey
and Murphy
was
priceless.
Not to be left out,
Heather played
with Scooter.
The bond between the girls
and Murphy
was priceless. It was
the true answer to a prayer.
I wanted Murphy to go
to a loving Christian
home.
After a wonderful visit
with Nancy and watching
the girls bond with
Murphy it was
time to say
goodbye.
Goodbye to a wonderful
7 to 8 years of
this guy being
my constant companion
while I took my
evening walks. Of sitting
on the porch with Mr. P
and I while we enjoyed the
view of the lake. Of
watching my Bailey
playing with
Murphy.
So many
memories, far
too many to list.
Nancy is kind enough to
keep me posted
on how he's doing.
With each email
or text I get
it's another
confirmation that
I made the right
decision.
He went to a loving
home.
Fondly ~ Lynne~

So very sad ~
I know that was a very hard decision for you. So glad you could put him in a loving/caring home. He is such a pretty dog!
Hope you are doing well and looking forward to Springs flowers and warmer temps.
It takes a very loving person to put the happiness an comfort of one's beloved pet above your own. I had to do that once. Pat brought home a tiny puppy when were just married and I was expecting my first son. Mike was a little black pup with white on his chest. We lived half a block from a grade school and when Mike grew up he would leave home, go to the school and escort each bunch of children to their homes and then run back and escort another group of children. I was always so upset with him for slipping past me. This was in the 1950's and there was no lease law. I owned no leash.
I would go get him, bring him home and shame him and scold him and this went on and on. Then Mike disappeared one day...not to be found. Oddly it was a weekend. Someone told me where he was and I found him with a family of six children..He was overjoyed to see me but as I drove up I could see he was having the time of his life with that family... and the parents told me that Mike was a constant visitor and thinking him a stray had taken them on a family outing to the mountains. That was where he had been all weekend. I left Mike there and crying, went home, collected his dishes and all his toys and took them to his new family. I had just had my first child and Mike was lay under his bassinet and crib but it would be a long time before he would become the playmate Mike needed..He needed to run and play with children. And so I let him go.
I eventually had seven little ones...and often thought how pleased Mike would have been. I will always think of him. I hope he had a good life.
Love,
Mona
Not sad at all, Murphy is quite happy where he is. The constant texts, and pictures assures me I made a great choice.
Glenda it was very difficult, but he's doing super. Yes I'm ready for loads of Spring and green.
Mona, thank you so very much for being my constant cheer leader... love you tons girl.
Oh Lynne, this must have been so hard but it was so very generous and loving of you to care that much for Murphy to let him go. I am glad you can keep in touch with the owners. Life changes so much, some changes are easy and some very, very hard. XO
