This year's theme has been all about the traditional plaids and reds with a bit of black thrown in. I searched the pantry for the right dishes, Royal Stafford fit the bill. Grounding the black and adding a bit of bling I added the vintage looking gold charger.
Inside the coffee mug is a cinnamon stick stirrer. I haven't unwrapped it yet. In a perfect world it would stay clean and look perfect for the open house. The winds have been blowing like crazy around here. I sure didn't want it to be dirty, dishes I can wash, the cinnamon stick stirrer, now folks that wouldn't be good. :-))
Some snow tipped bells and greenery definitely screams Christmas.
A few pine cones too.
I've looked for quite a while for the perfect plaid plates. Using the whole set would have been way too much, I opted to mix them with the Royal Stafford.

Have a fun and very successful open house! Wish I could be there.
a most delightful vignette setting... i love that it is outdoors :)
not sure if my doggies would allow such a dish setting...but i can think of something :)
love your combinations!
Your dishes are wonderful!! I hope you have a splendid day tomorrow!!! I am delivering "wares" to a shop in GWood in the a.m. then setting up a small area in another shop in the pm for a Sat. flea mkt sale. Tis the Season! I'm so sad I can't attend your open house. Why does everything land on the same weekend? Good luck to YOU!!! dana
That is just a gorgeous setting and I love the velvet on the tablecloth...just a nice touch of elegance. Hope you open house is fun and busy!

Hi Lynne, your table looks wonderful....I hope to try to make it to your open house....Pat H
Lynne,
My first time to your blog! My what a lovely table you've set!
I just stopped in to visit Pat@ Back Porch Musings, while there I caught a glimpse of your Shop, as well! A vision of loveliness! Thank you for an uplifting and inspiring post! I use reds, greens and golds in Traditional Christmas fashion in my living room. You've inspired me to use my Santa collection in a different area this year!
Fondly,
Pat
I saw on Pat's blog today that she visited your shop. It looks wonderful! Love the plaid dishes with the gray/black transferware. Plaid is everywhere and I'm loving it. Hope the open house was successful and that you are doing well (both personally and professionally). Sally
Lynn, this is just fabulous. Trimming the burlap with velvet is genius! What I'm crazy about is that plaid plate! Where oh where did you find it? I just ordered some tartan plaid plates, but I like yours better! Would love it if you could tell me the maker and where you found them. They look great with the black transferware! ~Delores
So brave to put a plaid plate in there! It works beautifully!
Your tablescape is very striking. I love the juxtaposition of the plaid plate and the blank transferware, gold charger with your milkglass mug all on a burlap cloth dressed up with the velvet trim! It really speaks to me! I'm getting in the Christmas spirit now. Your open house looks great and how special to have Pat join you. I enjoy visiting both your blogs.
