http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com. What a treat we're in for... Loads of beautiful outdoor spaces.

This particular trumpet vine is orange. I have to tell you, orange is my least favorite color in the whole world. (I apologize to you orange lovers). Against the barn it makes quite the splash of color. I have another one growing that is the prettiest shade of yellow. I'll share that with you in another post.

Oh those vines! They do tend to take over don't they? At least this one has pretty flowers and I do like orange. I have never seen a yellow trumpet vine. Thanks for sharing! :D Jewel
Your Trumpet vines are beautiful!!!
I love the color of orange, but I like yellow even better...... can't wait to see yellow Trumpet vines.
I hope your week is going well....
Hugs,
Dolores
Oh I really like the idea of a maintenance free plant that flowers. And if it would cover the view I have of my neighbors yard so much the better lol. I might try this next spring IF we get any rain in the next 10 months. Kathy
Your trumpet vine is beautiful. At the farm, we had trumpet vine growing on an old garage/shed. The wood was weathered. It was absolutely gorgeous. For some reason I never found out, my daughters' paternal grandmother called it Cow Itch!
I am not a orange person either, but do appreciate it in flowers and things like pumpkins in the Fall. Your trumpet vine is pretty.

Hi Lynne,
I'm with you, let it take over!!
Love plants like that, especially if they are somewhat contained by a 'container'. =0))
Blessings,
Barbara jean
Is that what you call it, Lynne? I bought one and planted it by the brick in the front yard. I love the orange flowers though mine is not as thick as yours, it's climbing the brick....Christine
Trumpet vine is a little like kudzu with flowers :) I see it growing wild all over! I think it looks great where you have it planted!
That sure can take over. I think you have a good spot for it. It really softens the hard wall of the barn.
I really like your trumpet vine!! Very nice...
It's so pretty Lynne. Now I'm anxious to see the yellow version of it! ☺ diane
~Beautiful trumpet flowers Lynne! Your yard is just so incredibly lush and vibrant. :)
Oh Lynne! I love the trumpet vines. These are absolutely gorgeous. The hummingbirds here would be so happy with these trumpet vines. We had these back in Oklahoma. We as kids loved to pick them and put one on each of our fingers. You have given me back a very fond memory. Thanks for sharing this beautiful day. COuntry Hugs, Shery
Those trumpet vines are georgous!

I think it's beautiful!! AND the hummers love them. I have to tell a funny story....my aunt gave me an autumn clematis vine twenty years ago and told me it would take over...well it did!! It is all up and down the highway and I swear that it came from me...;)..I don't care because it is beautiful and it smells wonderful!
Happy OW!
Lynne,
Thanks for coming by and leaving a little note.
I too, am waaaay behind getting around to visit people.
And you will not believe this!!
I am thinking of starting another blog!!
Am I crazy, or what?
(don't answer that!!) =0))
Here is the idea, in brief:
a new blog: Treasures from the Heart of God.
On it i would put the insights God gives me as He and I walk the road of life together.
Right now, He peaks to me through nature as we are walking in the morning.
What do you think?? Start another blog? Or just add it to one i have?
Hugs and smiles to you,
Barbara Jean
Trumpet vine will take over a house if not careful! Cute pictures : )
Your trumpet vines are lush and their color is beautiful. They are a perfect foil to the side of the bar. I hope you're having a great day. Blessings...Mary
How pretty! I love the orange/red color. Looks like I need to add that to my list!
Laura
Lynne, I have one question. Do cows, horses and goats like them?
If not I am getting some of these!
Its a lovely bush and flowers!
TTFN~~Claudia ♥
Thank you for stopping by and your kind words. It is a stressful time around here but I have to remind myself that he's in God's hands and it will be as it should be. I just wish I could take the pain and the burden away from him. We'll all be able to rest easier once the procedure is done and he's okay! Cindy
Nice trumpet vine!!
Looks nice growing over & over...thats nature!
Yes, the trumpet vines are stunning and they definately do take over and the seed pods drop and you'll find them all in your grass. We planted one in 1991 by the side of our storage shed and it attached itself to the side and roof and we finally had to tie down the vine on the opposite side of the roof. It is a very strong vine but beautiful! Every year, we would cut it back and that sucker grew back just as strong the next season.
Betty E, thanks so much for swinging by to see the trumpet vine. I've enjoyed your visit and your kind comment.hugs ~lynne~
Lynne, that is perfect! What beauty! If you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have even known the barrels were under there! This is definitely one of those times that having a vine spread and multiply is a wonderful thing. laurie
