And up date
on my daughter and family on the East Coast thanks to the Lord above they skirted the wrath of Irma, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of those that have been effected.
Before I do any fall decorating on the front porch I wanted to share the beauty of the Boston Ferns this year. It's no secret I love ferns and so does the house. For 20 years I've hung and placed ferns around the house and shop, I'm never disappointed with the way they flourish.
I flank the front door with 2 each year placed in black urns, I usually have to keep moving them out so a person can get inside the front door.
Each morning I take my coffee on the front porch and have my quiet time, pray and plan my day.
I replaced a couple of the outdoor pillows this year, the others were quite worn, definitely time for them to go. I purchased 2 of these blue and white pillows from Walmart for $5.00 each. It will soon be time to put some fall pillows out here. The last couple of days we've been in the upper 90's hard to think about fall, although it is quickly approaching.
Each evening I'm out here waiting for my evening quests to appear.
And here they are. Mom and baby frolicing across the yard, it's hard to sit still and not talk with them.

LUSH!!!!!!!!! I've never had any luck with Boston ferns. I think perhaps they were allowed too much sun? They likely only need bright light, no indirect sunlight. I wanted to try again this year but got sidetracked when I saw all the beautiful sweet potato vine first! Saw those pillows at Walmart the other day and considered buying a few. I already don't have space for the ones I've got! 🙃 Every time I see that beautiful expanse of real estate outside your front door...I just melt. Undoubtedly it's a great place to start your days. Enjoy, and have a peaceful weekend.
I didn't know your family was a risk and I'm so grateful and happy for you.
I love frees, too. I've tried to inter them over but they shed terribly. It's so sad to toss them, now I just have one on my back porch. And your porch- gorgeous!

OMGoodness, those ferns!!!!!!!! I have ONE and this year it did great as I kept it away from the sun. Do you bring them inside in the winter??? I always feel they are too messy??? True? What a gorgeous porch and VIEW! Love the deer family:)
