That Joanna Gaines Moment

I know I promised to share the reveal of the pocket door installation, there is one small detail left to attend to and pictures to take. The wheels on this bus goes round and round a tad slower especially this time of year. Stick with me friends the reveal will be coming soon.
Over the last few years I've shared the shop many times, I so appreciate all of you stopping by to say hello. Last Summer while working I realized the shop was due for a mini update. Fixer Upper one of the most watched shows on television, is always a great source of inspiration. After binge watching one weekend I knew what the shop needed to bring it up to date. The faux brick wall needed to go lighter and brighter it screamed PAINT ME! Yes folks the sound was loud and strong. Who am I not to listen.
The mortar
was black and dark. It was fine for the time I installed it, but it was stuck in the early 90's. Time to pull out the brush and with paint on hand get to work.
After I started I asked myself many times am I sure I want to do this? I sent pictures to my daughter and her reply, "yes Mom go for it!" Second opinions are always nice, they give us that extra boost of confidence we're headed in the right direction.

Over the course of 2 days, and 3 coats of paint the East wall of the shop burst it's way into the 21st Century.
The shop instantly felt lighter and brighter. The lighter wall felt as though more space had been added.
 BEFORE
AFTER
After I completed the painting and the shop restyled I asked myself why I hadn't done it long before now. These pictures were taken last Spring, the shop has evolved with new merchandise many times over since then. The shop has changed drastically over the last 20 years, there is still a bucket list of things I would love to do, in due time, in due time. The cost of this mini makeover was zero dollars spent. A little bit of time, moving a lot of merchandise gives the shop whole new look. Don't you like the lighter look?

This is perfect, Lynne. It's up to date and a perfect backdrop for everything in your shop. Yay for inspiration like Fixer Upper!

It shows everything off beautifully, Lynne :)

It seems that 2017 is the year of change for everyone and as long as it's happy change I'm grateful.
