Holiday Open House and a Tribute To Pat

It's been quite a while since I've done a post. There have been way too many things getting the way. I've been busy with this and that getting loads of things done that had gone by the way side for various reasons.

The summer has flown by and we're now knee deep into the holidays quickly approaching. I've been busy getting the shop ready for the festivities to begin this weekend. I'm sharing a few of the highlights as to what my quests will see this year in the shop.

In front of the faux fireplace I placed 2 chairs and a rooster cabinet. The top is loaded down with various things for your home.
I had
a Joanna Gaines moment over the summer and painted the brick surrounding the other fireplace. It was one of the best things I've done in the shop, brightens up the room and has a feeling of more space. I love the reflection of the top of the tree in the mirror.
A white cabinet that originally set in my kitchen has been filled to the brim with holiday cheer. A friend of mine helped me one afternoon cover "most" of the books in the shop with this adorable plaid paper. I am in love with the effect.

A few primitives can be found here and there.
As well as these adorable vintage styled snowmen.
Filling a tree with a few of your favorite things helps add more character.
Four years ago this weekend this beautiful lady and her husband made the drive up to the shop. It was and still is the highlight of my holiday weekends. As many of you know we lost her and her beautiful blogging talents in September. Pat authored the blog Back Porch Musings, we were the lucky ones to follow her and her talents. She was a kind and gracious lady, beautiful on the inside as well as the out. I feel so blessed to have met her and her husband Jay that weekend. Although the visit was short it felt as though I'd known her all of my life. My thoughts and prayers continue for her sweet husband Jay and the rest of the family.

Have a great weekend......

Your shop looks great! We don't get to the Kansas City area very much any more, but I still have hopes of connecting with you some day. Have a wonderful holiday season. Sally

I miss Pat every day. She was one of my very first blogging friends and was so kind and gracious to everyone. She was lovely, fun and knowledgeable, as well as so loving. Your tribute to her is beautiful and I love the picture of the two of you.
