Choosing a Range For The Kitchen

It's been said I live in a bubble. They mean it kindly I suppose, living in a bubble isn't so bad. Not a lot effects you inside a bubble. On the other hand when it comes to updating things around your home you're lost, confused and shocked at the what the outside world has revolved into.

Over the
course of the reno I've had to take time to do some research for the new slide in range. Folks, I was shocked at the price of appliances. I haven't purchased new appliances in almost 20 years. I wasn't only shocked at the price I was shocked at the options these new ranges have on them. I think they can do almost anything you want except stir the food for you. After a lot of research, reading and asking others what they have I settled on the Frigidaire range from Sears. I researched, read on line and talked with 5 different companies before ordering the range from Sears. Sears was the cheapest by over $400.00. Naturally you can see why I chose to purchase it from Sears.

From all of my reading this was going to be the best choice for my needs. I don't do a lot of entertaining any longer and can't see that happening any time soon in the future.  From their site these are some of the features:

he Frigidaire® FFES3025PS slide-in electric range is a versatile, high-performance machine. Boasting multiple cleaning options, this range is equipped with a quick clean option for light cleaning as well as a power clean option that provides a heavy-duty clean with 25% more cleaning power. Delay clean sets the oven to begin cleaning on your schedule.
Boasting an huge capacity, the 4.6 cu. ft. stainless steel Frigidaire® FFES3025 electric range can handle large family meals. An extra-large 12” element gives you more flexibility to fit larger pots and pans, while SpaceWise® expandable elements expand to meet your cooking needs, both big or small. And, a color-coordinated oven door with a large window make it easy to check on your food without even opening the oven door.

The range was delivered unpacked and looked over. There were a few issues I had to take up with Sears, they were resolved over the phone. It hasn't been installed due to the delay of the counter top being installed. Installation is scheduled for this Monday. Doing my happy dance hands in the air jumping for joy! I am one excited gal. Now, the flooring on the other hand is still an on going issue. Fingers crossed I get a call back today, if not I'm moving on to someone else. I'm ready to wrap this part of my reno up and and tie a bow on top.
Have a great weekend!

Lynne,
Your new range looks quite efficient, dear friend!
I agree, appliances are terribly expensive!
Appears you and I have both been doing that "happy dance" lately!
I, too, have been dealing with delays, but the finish line is in sight!
No ribbon ceremony here. . .just total bliss!
Fondly,
Pat

Well she's a beauty! I know you'll love the glass cook top. I got one a while back and I love it. Why do people ignore someone and not return a call. If he doesn't want the job he should just fess up. I have seen floors patched back together but they usually sand all the flooring and re-stain it with a deeper tone to blend things together. Cheaper than new flooring but still not cheap. I hope you can get this resolved quickly. I wonder if you'd like the island framed with tiles- maybe some slate or black colored tiles.

Remodeling is so stressful, but you are handling it with grace and ease. I know you'll be glad when Monday is in your rear view. The range is handsome. You made me LOL when you said stoves all but "stir" the pot. Have a great weekend.

Your front porch looks amazing. It sure changes the front of your home. I think you might have to have a ribbon ceremony when all is completed!!! What a sight for the neighbors to enjoy huh? fondly ~ Lynne ~

Liz, I too have seen floors patched in and you can barely tell. I'm not sure why he's not returning phone calls, it's not like him. Someone else suggested tiles around the island, an idea I might have to consider. I'm sure trying my best not having to replace the whole kitchen that would truly make a huge dent in the budget, fingers crossed a patch job can be done and work nicely. fondly ~ lynne ~

It's so good to have you stop by Michael, these fancy ranges are decked out for outer space I'm telling you. The number of gadgets and do-dahs you can get is amazing. The flooring issue has been the only hiccup to date, up until now things have gone very smoothly. I've had a ball. Ready for the next stage of this Reno. I've sure enjoyed reading all about the updates to your home.fondly ~ Lynne ~
