Pottery Barn Console Table

Yesterday I did a short post and at the end hinted at another change around my home. You all had some pretty good guesses. I wish I was super woman and had completed some of your guesses. Well, I'm good folks but not quite that good. lol
My birthday falls in September, September the 1st to be exact. This past year was the first birthday I spent 100% alone, it was not an easy day for me. Weeks prior I had seen this table at Pottery Barn and fell in love. In a weakened state of mind, I knew it was time to make some changes. I measured and remeasured the wall in my office to make sure it would fit and fit well, not crowding the area. The table I had been using I sold to help pay for this one. Sometimes you can move pieces here and there to make room, I knew the style of the other table was not one I wanted to continue using, so the best option was for it to be sold, it was a win win. This is one of the first changes I made in trying to make over my home.
Naturally a new
table requires a new lamp right? OK, may it's not a requirement but I sure wanted one for the end of the table. This fabulous lamp came from Lamps Plus, I'll include the link at the end of the post. The price is so affordable.

I gathered treasures from around my home to make a gallery wall above the table. The small blue and white plate and silver box belonged to Mother. They were gifts to me many many years ago.

This was a gift from Mr. P many years ago, the verse says it all.
The map picture was a print I found quite a while back, not knowing for sure where I was going to use it. I found the frame on sale at Hobby Lobby. I had tried it in a couple of other places and it seemed to work here in the office the best, well at least for now. The blue plates to the right of the picture and the one of mother's works perfect.
Years ago there were some guys that flew around our area taking Aeriel shots of your homes and properties. They took one of ours brought by the proof asking if we were interested in buying one, naturally our answer was yes. The activity around the barn went on daily around here. Equipment coming and going, one of the guys working on something. To the right of the picture you cans see the drive leading into the shop minus the row of trees, the pergola above the shop doors, the yard lights weren't in yet. Oh so long ago, this was circa 1987 - 1988. I would really like to have one as my home sits today. Again in the last couple of years so many changes around here.
The oval framed picture is the wedding announcement of my grandparents. One of my Aunts gave me a copy and ironically I had on hand the perfect oval frame. Notice the date?

And it came together. As of about two weeks ago,  it's taken on yet another change. lol It's not a big change, I'll share that soon along with the rest of the office.
When I purchased the table I also ordered the basket, knowing I wanted to disguise as much of the satellite equipment as I could. Yes folks, that is the "old" VCR. How many of you still have one of those beauties? In my case it's the only way I can mirror image this T.V. to the T.V. over in my sewing area. This way I don't have to pay for a second room when the distant is so small, great suggestion from the Direct T.V. installer.
You know my Miss Scootie baby is going to be close by, but all this moving stuff around just wears this poor baby out.

Thanks for stopping by to see my sweet table from Pottery Barn. What do you think? Fits this area perfect right? Anything you might do differently?

Fondly ~ Lynne~

Oh, Lynne, your table is beautiful--just perfect for the spot. Your vignettes and wall groupings are outstanding--so warm, personal, and gorgeous, all at once. When it's put together, the table and accessories knock it out of the ballpark. (I didn't even notice the Directv stuff--the basket is genius! )

I love it and the way you decorated around it, Lynne. I think it fits perfectly :)

I had a VCR until about 3 years ago and it died. I either have to get another one or transfer all my video to CD... ugh. I think we should have just stuck to projectors LOL

I hope you had a nice weekend with Miss Scootie :)

rue

Lovely! Just lovely. Yes, it is all a perfect fit. Love the aerial photo and the Woman plaque. You have so many special touches on this wall with so many memories --- and then having Miss Scooter living there as a bonus :) --- well, your home always looks so cozy, warm and inviting. I think I want to come sit a while and have a cup of tea with you.

I'm with you with the VCR. Ours died a few years back and I should replace it. But my adult kids have been telling me I need to put all of our home movies onto a DVD. I guess I should take their advice, right? Ugh! I'm not into all this new tech stuff. Even though I do enjoy the handiness of the computer, I feel perfectly fine without a smart phone too. :) And I'd be perfectly content just playing my old cassette tapes on the old players! Ha. Does that tell you anything about which era I grew up in?
Have a great week, Lynne!

I have several of the items you placed on your new table, but I really need YOU to arrange them! I love it all. The Currier and Ives blue and white plate from your Mom is especially sweet to me. My very first set of dishes as a newly wed. Over the years, with 4 children, they all disappeared. They are one of the "wants" in the bucket list in my mind. Next set I see at an estate sale, they are MINE. LOL

Your style seems to match mine so perfectly....love the new lamp too, by the way.

Thank you Rue, I sure enjoyed pulling it all together. My daughter was wanting to get me a blue ray player and I had to ask what is a blue ray player. I'm still stuck in the VCR era. lol fondly ~lynne~
