A Little Update To the Front Porch

For a long weekend this past weekend flew by. I hope all of you had a wonderful time with friends and family. My heart and soul goes out to all of those effected by the flood waters in Texas and Oklahoma. I cannot imagine the devastation after seeing it on the news. Prayers are being sent out for all of them.
A while back it dawned me the chairs on the East side of the porch were in desperate need of some cushions. The blue and white pillows looked a tad bit on the lonely side.
After an appointment
in the city I went on a mission to find some that would coordinate with the cushions on the other end of the porch. I don't recall if I've shared those with you or not. I'll do a post in a couple of days of the porch in it's entirety. Hopefully, Mother Nature will be kind and back off some of this rain and give me blue skies without winds howling to get those pictures.
I spotted these cushions in TJ Maxx and felt they were perfect.
My cute little photo bomber is never far away. Miss Scooter is so clingy, not that I mind. She's so much company for me.

The concrete pedestal has been around for more years than I can remember. The patina it's taking on is incredible. In fact I don't recall the original finish it once had. I think it's aging gracefully with loads of character.

The chairs were originally purchased when Mr. P's mother moved in with us so many years ago. She requested a chair to sit in on the back patio. This was huge for her, she never asked for anything. She said we needed chairs to sit in to be able to visit each afternoon while we had coffee and Teddy Grahams. She so loved her afternoon snack of coffee and Teddy Grahams. Her wish was my command and off to town we went and she chose these chairs. Needless to say those cushions wore out many years ago and I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't replaced them until this year. I think she would be pleased I still have the chairs and still enjoy sitting in them enjoying coffee, no Teddy Grahams just coffee. lol
I hope you enjoyed viewing the East end of the porch with the addition of the new cushions. What do you think? Isn't the apple green color just fun?

Fondly ~ Lynne~

The apple green cushions are beautiful, especially with the backdrop of the lawn. I've got the cousin to your pedestal--yours really has aged nicely.

Lynne, your porch looks like a perfect place to relax. The new cushions are bright and cheerful, and the patina on the pedestal is fabulous. What a great piece.
Thanks for the visit and thoughtful comments on my post about the flooding in TX.

Lynne, your porch looks so relaxing! I love those new cushions! I bought some very similar, last year, at Garden Ridge. They added so much color/pattern to the chairs out back. I could sit on your porch all day!

Such a sweet story about your mother-in-law. Lovely memories for you.

And yes, the apple green is beautiful, as is this entire area of the porch.

Love your porch. I wish I had one- I'm sure I'd use it a lot! Those are great chairs and I think it's wonderful that you still have them. I'm guessing those have a little bounce to them by their design. Love the new cushions- great choice!

I've always loved your front porch with all it's beautiful ferns. Hanging ferns here in California struggle and it's difficult to keep them alive. The air is not moist enough and constant misting is required and even then it often does not work. The vista you have off your porch is just gorgeous. How fortunate you are. Enjoy your rain, I wish we had some. :) I know it can be too much as easily as too much sunshine...
Hugs!

Lynne,
You, dear friend, used my "favorite" decor color scheme in the East Wing of your Front Porch!!!
C`est magnifique!!!
Beyond the porch, I'm adoring the lush green of your lawn!!!
One of my favorite times of year. . .Spring on the Prairie!!!
The green in your cushions is a perfect match!!!
I think Momma P would approve!!!
Fondly,
Pat
