Our 2014 Christmas Tree

It's hard to believe it's a week before Christmas. Do you have  your shopping all done and wrapped? Are you busy making holiday treats for unexpected guests? I hope you've enjoyed the process of preparing for the holiday season.
 As I type
this post it's snowing, coming down like a feather pillow has burst. It is so incredibly beautiful. It's so light and fluffy brings out the child inside of me, wanting to go out and play, then the adult speaks up loud and clear and says, "ahhhh you don't like the cold, it's best you stay inside. " Adult won out.

I put the tree up Thanksgiving day filling the empty hours, playing Christmas tunes and remembering the many times I put the tree up before with Mr. P over seeing each move and saying, "You know you have to put all that stuff away don't you?" He teased me mercilessly and I loved every minute of it. His voice no longer rings out with his little boy grin on his face, but in my heart I can still hear the words and see his handsome face.

I apologize before hand for the heavy picture load. I just couldn't stop snapping. So grab your beverage of choice and let's get started.

The tree turned out beautifully this year, filled with loads of baubles and bling. I think it's the prettiest tree ever. My daughter says, "Mom you say that every year." Shes right I do.

The metal ornaments are new this year purchased from Nell Hill's right before her open house.
You many recall in earlier posts I stated I was crushing on plaid this year. I've enjoyed changing out all the ribbons on various wreaths, outside decor and more. The beauty of the ribbon speaks for itself, no extra bling to take away from the beauty of the plaid.

I sold this darling snowman in the shop for a couple of years. I just couldn't resist hanging onto of them for myself. Each year he's landed in a different spot, I chose in front of the tree this year. I love looking at him in the evenings when the lights come on, all of his snow flecked body seems to sparkle all the more.

The vintage ornaments have been around our home for a very long time. I don't recall where I got them, only wish I had a few more. The plaid ornaments were sold in the shop this year.

So... there you have our 2014 Christmas Tree. I hope you enjoyed viewing all the bling. Look closely and you can see a slight change in the dining room. I promise to share it with you soon.

Fondly

Lynne, your tree is beautiful! I was in a plaid frame of mind this year, too! I've always wanted to use it in my home; but, didn't think it would work. I just went for it this year; and we all love it! My girls love the traditional look; and they think the plaid is awesome. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

What a beautiful tree, Lynne! You went all out this year, and Mr. P is proudly beaming down upon you for your efforts and your memories of the times you shared in Christmases past. I know that you knew that he knew that you knew it would all have to come down I also know that he knew that you knew that he loved every bauble and every bit of it! That's the beauty of the men in our lives...they secretly adore everything we do whether they say it out loud or not. Even though Mr. P is in heaven this year, he is still in secret adoration of your beautiful tree.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas, Lynne, and hope it will be a day filled with joy and an opportunity to think back and cherish the better times you shared with the love of your life. Take care, my friend, from across the Missouri miles.
