Christmas Vignettes In The Kitchen

After what seems like "forever" the sun peeked out of the clouds yesterday for a short bit. The last few days have been so cloudy in our area. Are you experiencing the same thing? I personally am ready for some bright blinding sun. Are you finishing up your shopping or decorating this weekend? I'll be working on another project I have in the works. It will be a while before I'll be able to share with you, I am pretty excited, it's turning out just as I've envisioned. So onto today's post.
We last left
off in the sun porch with all of it's Christmas finery. Even though I had to talk myself into decorating the house this year I've enjoyed the process. I've had my moments they come in waves.  Bringing all of the Christmas out I'm enjoying the memories surrounding them, they bring up lots of emotions; there's been quite a few tears shed. The kitchen vignette began with the silver tray and I built from there. A couple more bottle brush trees and sweater wrapped candles I spotted in Walmart this year.
Next to the sink I added another small tree with the cardinal plate. I placed the tree inside one of my blue and white bowls. I'm crushing big time on bowls this year. After snapping these pictures I moved the tree to a different area, I loved the look but after a fashion it felt too heavy.

The kitchen window has a nice ledge perfect for adding a few decorations. The sweet candy cane lamp I sell in the shop, they were a big hit this year, now sold out for the season. I chose the berry snow tipped greenery to mock the berries found in the plate.
I have 9' ceilings in the house so there's lots of room to decorate the top of the refrigerator.

I added a few pieces to the marble topped baker's rack.

Looking back over the pictures you would think I live in the middle of a Christmas Tree Farm with as many trees as I've brought out this year. It wasn't planned just seem to evolve. Sometimes when things aren't planned they turn out for the best.

I'll leave you today with this happy Snowman. I hope you had a super weekend. Next up the tree, I have to say it's the prettiest tree yet. Then again as my daughter says, " Mom you say that every year".

As always please feel free to Pin away and share to your heart's delight.

Lynne,
I love your kitchen vignettes, dear friend!!!
Of course, the one with the bunny plate stole my heart!!!
I, too, have had waves of emotions this year as I decorate for Christmas!
With "Mr. Ed's" therapy sessions, I've had a start and stop decorating.
Distractions make it difficult to concentrate, thus the "keep it simple" theme!
My SNOWmen won't make their debut this year until after Christmas!!!
But I adore your smiling SNOWman at the end. . .and yes!!! He made me smile!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Oh Lynn, I love it all!!! And yes, it has been CLOUDY for days and days and impossible to get a good picture for a post! UGH! Your kitchen looks beautiful and I am anxious to see your tree. I am so glad you decorated; I know it must be VERY difficult but hopefully the decorations make your heart a little happier. And I know Mr. P. would be happy you did!!! XO

Your vignettes are so lovely Lynne and I especially like how you mixed in the blue and white pieces with your Christmas décor. I'm looking forward to seeing the prettiest tree yet. :)
BTW--I just mailed your envelope today. I sure hope the mail isn't too crazy and you get soon.
hugs,
Leslie

Hi Pinky, We're actually seeing a bit of sun this a.m. with sleet and snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. The white stuff would be fun to have, just a wee bit of white stuff not the 4" they're calling for. Merry Christmas darling fondly ~lynne~

It's OK for the house to look like you're in the midst of a Christmas tree farm...it's Christmas!!! I really like all the touches both big and small that you've created to put around the house. It feels very warm and homey, I'm sure.

I wish you a warm, wonderful, peaceful Christmas. Ginormous hugs to you!

I love the skates!
I'm glad that you are decorating for Christmas even though it is hard for you this year. I know the first year is the hardest after you lose a loved one.
You sure do a lovely job, Lynne!
