If I Could Bottle It Up

If I could bottle up the weather to save it for the winter months ahead I sure would. The last couple of days have been incredibly beautiful, more Fall like.
The dogs and I have a pretty set routine,
each morning as I tend to them I'm fortunate to enjoy this view. I'm truly blessed to see the lake Mr. P built so many years ago surrounded by all of this Fall beauty. Thankfully the rain didn't knock all the leaves off the trees. Some haven't begun to change, something to look forward to.
As the heat escapes the lake it's almost as though it's talking to us, almost eery like huh?

Even the hay field is getting in on the Fall parade of colors.

My plan is to use some of these beautiful Crab-Apple berries for the Christmas Open House decor.

As pretty as it's been I've found it hard to stay inside and get the shop prepared for the Open House. I'm happy to report I'm way ahead of schedule. The last of the orders are due in this week, the shop is 90% ready!! Yah!!! That has left time to work on a few other projects. Purging and lots of it, you know it's one of those things you put off, I now have loads of time. Last week I had the second annual Fall garage sale. You know after you've been in your home for many years "stuff" accumulates. I'm delighted to say I'm about to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lots of organization has been done, hate to admit WAY over due. It's good therapy, the excess has gone to trash haven or to Good Will.
So there you have the end of the week up date as to what's been going on around here. I am getting closer to being able to share some of the projects I keep speaking about, I want everything just right before I share, but you know the old saying right? A woman's home is never just right, we change our minds and tweak here and tweak there. Have a super weekend, I'll have a post to share with you on Monday.
Fondly ~ Lynne ~

Your photos are beautiful! It looks so peaceful there. It sounds like you are moving on to a new chapter in your life. We have lived in this house for 35 years & I'm pretty sure I could fill up a trash truck with things we no longer use. Wish I was close enough to come to your Open House1

Lynne, your photos are gorgeous! I am so jealous! The leaves, here, are still green. It's like we go from summer to winter. We get a hard freeze and all the leaves just drop off. LOL!! We hardly ever get to really see the transition. So, I am living vicariously through your pics! Thanks for sharing!

A beautiful view - thanks for sharing !! Still not much Fall color here - leaves falling now are brown.
I need to get back into the decluttering mode - started long ago and have been dragging my feet.

Oh I hate you don't get to enjoy the changing of the seasons. I'm still waiting for the Bradford Pear up by the garage to begin it's change, still none today, the leaves are just as green and gorgeous as they've been all summer. I'm glad you're enjoying the pics.

Hi sweet Lynne! Oh, how beautiful at your place. What a divine view and I love seeing the fog/steam coming up like that. Good for you purging and getting all organized (I would have always thought you were the most organized one) :) We do collect so much unnecessary stuff, don't we? We purged, had garage sales, purged, took to GW before we left Texas and I'm up here unpacking boxes and say to myself, "Why in the world did I keep this?" Good luck on your open house. I know it will be fabulous and I sure wish I could come. Thanks so much for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Take good care, Lynne.

Shelia, I am pretty organized, it's just amazing where all this stuff comes from We had an Auction and huge garage sale 4 years ago and I've had 2 garage sales since, have sold stuff on line and given tons away. I hope I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know it's a lot of work I hope you're enjoying the process of setting up your new home. I wish you could come too darling. fondly ~lynne~

So THAT'S what those trees are that I see at our local Hy-Vee!!! Crabapple! I had no idea! An arborist I'm not! :-) I've always loved those trees, though. I'm going to suggest to Ramon that we plant a couple of those to replace the trees we lost over the summer. They would come in handy for decorating like you're going to do at your shop.

I'm sure your garage sale was a big hit! It's always a relief to clean out and clear out. And I'm glad that you're ahead of schedule on getting the shop ready for Open House. I remember those days...lots of long hours and hard work!

Those photos of the lake are just beautiful. The serenity is palpable.
