~ Spring Time In Missouri ~

Thank you for all your heartfelt comments, I know I
don't share a lot of my personal life and
feelings on this little blog, kind of an oxymoron isn't

it? Isn't that why we created our blogs? For fear
of rejection or criticism I'm still struggling with
the complete package of sharing, left over
remnants of RMS days. Your uplifting words
and encouragement help knock those fears
to the ground. I'm so thankful for your
continued support and friendship.
The days are still a struggle the nights
are long and oh so quiet, each day
is still a test, sometimes I pass
others I fail miserably. But with the
Grace of God and His hand in
everything I do... slowly, ever
so slowly we move forward.

Spring time in Missouri is always welcome after a long hard winter,  it seemed like it took forever for to come this year, finally blues skies slight winds and beautiful blossoms gather around the yard. Last weekend was a bumpy one, storms all around us, the tornado siren going off, me on the mower totally oblivious to how serious the situation truly was. Now, I noticed the clouds getting blacker by the second, but I was on a mission to finish the mowing. As I pulled the mower into the garage a little on the soaked side, the winds came with a vengeance along with heavy rain and hail. Thankfully, no damage in our area, for those that had damage and worse, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The concrete bunny is hugged ever so tightly by Creeping Jenny. His small face seems to welcome the warmth of the color after the long hard winter.

Last summer while sprucing up the yard, I did a lot of heavy duty trimming, the snowball bush was one I took down almost 4 ft. I was so afraid I had thrown it into shock and stunted it's growth pattern. As you can see, not a lot of blooms, but blooms we have.

This is the result of the hard and heavy trimming. It was almost to the top of the lamppost. Give it a couple of years and it will be back to it's old self. See way over to the right of the picture? That my friends I'll save as a post for another day. :-) Just a wee bit of a tease....

Last weekend we had another storm go through leaving devastation in the small town of Orrick, Mo. about 10 miles from us. The school lost it's roof once again, lost in a previous tornado in January of 1967, 2 children lost their lives in that horrific tornado, fortunately there were no lives lost during the tornado of May 10th, 2014. I would ask that you keep them in your prayers as they pull together and put their lives back together.
Fondly, ~ Lynne ~

I love Spring, but not the storms. So many have lost so much.
I think people blog for different reasons. I originally started mine mainly due to my hobbies of repurposing vintage jewelry and found objects, miniatures such as doll houses, and also to help keep me motivated to make decorative changes around my home, be creative, etc. Actually all those reasons have been on the back burner for a while due to other things going on, the majority (99.9%)of which that I won't be sharing with the world. I am another one that does not share things going on in my personal life for the world to read.
Actually, one of the reasons I have continued with my blog is to have a diversion of away from "things" going on in life.
So no - not an oxymoron. :-D
Enjoy your evening.

I can't even begin to imagine the wave of emotions you must go through on a daily basis, Lynne. Please know that you are thought of and cared for and loved.

Missouri has had it tough this Spring, and I fear we haven't seen the last of it. Those poor folks in Orrick...I really feel for them. They're really banding together, though, so I hope they can get things cleaned up and back up & running in short order. These tornadoes are just getting more and more vicious...or so it would seem.

I hope you have a peaceful weekend.

Lynne,
Your photographs of Springtime in Missouri are splendid, dear friend!
"Mr. Ed" & I vacation each Autumn in Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon, Missouri.
It has been many years since I've seen a Spring time in Missouri!
My daily prayers continue for you.
Your faith will see you through and aid you in the direction He has chosen for you to journey.
I am grateful that you have chosen to take us along the journey with you.
Fondly,
Pat

Hi Lynne,
Your garden is coming along nicely and I it is nice to enjoy gardening again after a winter break. Sorry to hear of all the devastation from the tornado and I hope the people that suffered so much damage are able to get their lives back in order soon. I can only imagine how frightening a tornado would be.
Just wanted to let you know you are the lucky winner of the giftcard from Nancy's Daily Dish ~ congratulations! I am sure you will enjoy picking something out.

Wishing you all the best!
Carolyn

Beautiful! You take good care of yourself. Okay? Your trimming certainly paid off! Everything looks wonderful. I miss the posts of the inside of your home..your porch and your store. :)
