The Beauty Of A Cardinal

Most evenings are spent on the front porch enjoying the sweet sounds of Mother Nature. The other evening a Cardinal was flitting from tree to tree singing his little heart out, the sound was incredible. After a fashion I realized I should be taking shots of this beauty, wish I had thought to record the sound.  Most times they're so quick they fly off before I get that accomplished.

Last winter was hard on alot of trees in the yard, the Blue Spruce in particular decided to go to tree heaven. I still have yet to take the truck around, hook up the log chain and pull it out. It is quite the eye sore. Sometimes eye sores become landing spots in the yard and are soon called yard art. It won't stay yard art forever, just haven't found the time to get this job done.
The swaying of the blooming thistles didn't hold him for long, off he went back over to the tree.

His feathers look like the finest form of deep velvet.
Hmmmm... seems he doesn't like having his picture taken. :-)

Such a face, seems to be saying I've been caught red-handed taking his picture. Well, the tree is still in the yard waiting to be pulled out. For now it's a resting spot for the cardinal each evening. Miss Scooter and I listen to the beautiful tunes as it seems to be calling out for someone to join him.

You did get some great shots! You should print and frame the first one.
I don't have a lot of luck photographing wildlife. Guess I don't move fast enough or lack of patience. :/
Enjoy your evening.

Oh wow, you are getting such fabulous shots. First the moon, in all God's glory and now this great cardinal. So pretty. Your cardinal is a different species from our area cardinals. I must look in my bird book.

Great pics and so beautiful.
