~ Blue and White on the Baker's Rack ~

The last few days I've spent outside enjoying this glorious Spring weather. I had tons of mowing to do along with getting some mulch down in a few key areas. It's a lot of work, I don't mind, I LOVE
being outside soaking up some of that much needed Vitamin D.
The marble topped bakers rack is one of those key areas in our home I never tire of changing the vignettes. It seems to cry out for subtle changes here and there, I am so happy to accommodate. A touch of nature gracefully leans against the deep shades of blue and white.
Hidden pieces make you want to look even closer.

Displaying ironstone on it's own makes quite a statement, my collection is slowly growing, don't be surprised one day if you don't see the baker's rack made over in all white ironstone. Until then, I'll enjoy my blue and whites, with touches of nature and a picture of the little guy who stole my heart almost 13 years ago.

One of the cloche domes from the collection has held the birds nest from the time Mr. P brought it in, originally put under the dome for protection. It's my understanding if I take it out I should wear protective gloves. Apparently a lot of little spores and creatures can live inside the nests and cause great health problems. So... for the time being I believe I'll leaving it under glass.
You don't have to put something under every dome, standing alone they make their own statement.

I've fallen head over hills for Orchids. I purchased my first one last year about this time. It held onto it's blooms for the longest time and then one day gone. It's growing like crazy, still no blooms this year, yet. So I've resorted to finding beautiful faux orchids. I have to admit they are a lot less messy inside, I can move them around to any room without worrying about lighting, well you get the picture right?

Getting a full picture of the baker's rack is difficult where it sits, there just isn't enough room between the island, me and the baker's rack. Keep checking in you might find a couple of changes here and there. That's a post coming to blogs near you soon.\

Spores and creatures??!?!? Uh oh! I may be in trouble!!! Birds built a nest in one of my wreaths. After they abandoned the nest, I picked it up and claimed it as my own. I sprayed it with ammonia to kill of anything, but that may not have been enough. Hmmm...thinking I need to pitch it!

I like all your little touches on the baker's rack! That's a really nice ironstone tray...very hefty! The touches of nature you have throughout the vignette really give it a "living" look.

Be careful out there in that sun, young lady! Get thee some sunscreen on!!! :-) Have a great weekend!
