~ Beauty In A Vintage Mason Jar ~

I hope everyone had a stellar weekend, spending time with your family and friends. Mine was spent getting the mowing done, only to have a battle with the weed-eater, it won, for now. I'll work on it once the rains stop. Monday it rained and rained hard most of the day. Late afternoon
brought sunshine and a lot of humidity. Today, clouds, wind and a bit more rain. Presently we're under a tornado watch, the ferns are sitting on the floor of the porch just in case the winds come up fast and furious. They're getting so pretty I sure don't want to loose them, especially after the travels they've had coming and going from the inside to the outside since March.
If you follow me on Facebook I've shared off and on the last couple of days on my shop page the peonies as they began popping , showing off their beauty, I'm always amazed what a couple of days can do to plants.

It doesn't seem to matter what sort of container you use when displaying peonies, whether it be a white ironstone pitcher, or a vintage mason jar, they speak to you. A smile begins to form and you enjoy their beauty. Simpler times come to mind bringing forth fond memories of childhood days. Grandma always had a mason jar or two sitting around with fresh cut flowers from the garden.

You can't have peonies without having ants, that's the only draw back with bringing them inside, I couldn't resist, I had to see the soft pink against the white tile and blue of the plate. Do you bring your peonies in? If you do, how do you get rid of the ants?

I hurriedly took them outside and set them down in the blue ceramic pot for the evening, my intentions to put together a tablescape we'll see if I can get it together.
They look a little scrunched sitting so low in the pot, I'm hoping if the winds come up they'll be protected enough, if not I can always cut more.
I have to admit..... I would much rather see them inside on my counter than outside. {sigh}
Fondly ~ Lynne~

Your peonies are beautiful - thanks for sharing them. When bringing flowers in, I try to check for ants/bugs, but some times they slip thru.
Enjoy your evening.

Next year when you are tired of snow and cold I am going to remind you how BEAUTIFUL your peonies are. They would not be so luscious without the cold weather. They are exquisite.
