~ A New Look For the Living Area ~

Hello my friends, You know when you finally hit the "mark" on a decorating delimia  you want to shout it from the roof tops right? You know one of those areas that needs just the right thing, you won't settle for anything less. WELL.... I was sitting on the sofa the other day and the light bulb went off. The perfect solution was here all along.
Remember
the blank wall behind the entertainment center? I first shared the changes on top of the entertainment center HERE.  I liked the arrangement but after a fashion it seemed a bit busy. I really wanted the beauty of the ginger jars to shine. Looking at these pictures I wonder what in the world was I thinking.
This is the way it looks today, so much better, except for that silly blank wall that's staring us in the face. It's looming in front of us crying out for attention.

What do you think? Isn't it a beauty? The first time I saw the picture it reminded me of my Murphy dog, it's almost as though he posed for the picture. You can see Murphy and Mr. P on the front porch HERE The picture borrowed from Grandma's room was the perfect fit for behind the entertainment center. I hung another picture in it's place that's a share for another day. You can view Grandma's room and it's transformation  HERE.

Sitting across the room the view is such a pleasure. I see a couple of changes in a few little things I would like to make, you know we're never completely finished with a room are we? What changes have you made lately I would love to know.

Oh wow...I have the exact same problem above one of my cabinets, space that I just don't know how to fill. This gives me a lot of inspiration. I love the painting, it goes well with your room and all your treasures!

XO,
Jane

Sometimes we can't see the forest because of the trees.
I'm forever tweaking my living room shelves because of that. Doing it again this weekend. '-)
Your changes are very effective. Adding the painting was a great choice. Love the two bookend dogs!

I love your vignette, it's gorgeous! I'm crazy about the dog artwork and your dog figurines; I'm partial to doggies, I collect them and love them too! Beautiful all your blue and white pieces. Enjoy your week.

Hey Lynne,
Here's an idea what if you show case your blue and white together in different heights in one spot instead of symmetrical on top? Perhaps a small round table near a chair. I like to group them in three's. Try it. You have so many lovely things.

What a perfect picture for that spot! I love it and love how the ginger jars pop now. I bet you think of Murphy everytime you walk in there now. :)

Have a great day.

Lynne, I really like your new look. Isn't it funny sometimes how something from another room that we hadn't thought about before, just works so well? I have an entertainment center that always a "work in progress". I like your little vignette with the dogs, tied books sitting on the box.

Lynne,
Adding the print above the entertainment center was liken to icing on a cake, dear friend! Splendidly delicious!!!
I love that you say, "We're never truly finished"! for I feel the same!!!
The most recent changes I've made were a joint effort, from my friend and I, on the back deck On Crooked Creek!!! It truly is a Breath of Fresh Air!!!
Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!!!
Fondly,
