~ The Boston Fern Saga ~

Each year I look forward to buying the Boston ferns for the front porch, my favorite spot during the summer and late fall days. Last year I purchased the ferns on March 29th, this year I purchased them on March 28th.
I buy
10 ferns a year, six for the front porch, 2 for the shop area and 2 for the back door.
Now you see why I haven't put together a tablescape post from this room. A little crowed with all the ferns, happy none the less.
On Saturday April 7th I was lucky enough to take them outside give them a big 'ole drink and wash off their undercoat.

It's a wee bit early to hang them for the season, nestled all together is a sight let me tell you. I keep telling myself it won't be long and the gentle breezes will have them swinging too and fro.

Then back inside for the last few days. We had frost this morning and the temps are still on the cool side. I'm  hoping to take them out tomorrow and give them another huge drink only to bring them back in until Mother Nature decides to shower warmer temperatures our way. By the looks of the 10 day forecast that is going to be a while. {sigh}

We hang ferns on our front porch also. When the ferns are up, it's officially summer!

Lynne, your ferns are beautiful! Can't wait to get some to put out! We've had some fluke cool days this past week; and I think there are a couple in the forecast for the coming week.

I love ferns, too...yours are beautiful! I bring them in for the winter and keep them near a sunny window and then out they go in May!

I love ferns, but they don't do very well here...I need an eastern or northern exposure so they don't dry up. Sweet potato vines thrive, though and I ♥♥♥ their cheery lime color!

Have a great day.

Those ferns are gorgeous. Makes me want to rush out and buy some for my garden. I have some growing in pots that didn't freeze back this year, but they don't look this healthy. '-)
