~ Our Spring Open House Event 2013 Part I

Hello my friends, I hope you've had a wonderful fun filled weekend. Our weekend started off with perfect Spring weather, then boom the bottom fell out. We went from 83 degrees on Friday to 43 degrees on Saturday, it was crazy cold and windy. Hopefully, Mother Nature will get her act together soon and we'll have some stellar Spring weather.
Many of you know this past weekend was the weekend of my annual Spring Open House Event, this was my 14th Spring Open House, I'm already planning the Holiday Open House for November. I want it to be a blow out of an affair, fingers crossed I'll be open 15 years!
I'm so glad you stopped by today, come on up on the patio and I'll show you around.
Moving the
cast iron chairs to this area was genius. Chairs outside an entry are a great way to welcome your guests, not only pleasing to the eye it's a fun place to decorate. With Mother Nature's fickle personality it's a bit early for fresh flowers. I chose to use a grapevine wreath wrapped in my great twiggy vine topped off with a bunny to sit on top of the urn.

The bunny was an obvious chose to me, you all know how I love my bunnies. Adding a few eggs for a bit more texture. Soon the bunny will be changed out for fresh flowers, until then I'll enjoy the smile on the bunnies face as he greets you at the door.
I wanted to add the umbrella to the table but felt it was a tad early. I chose another larger grapevine wreath as the base for the centerpiece. I wove and glued wisteria through out the wreath for a bit of color. I love the clean fresh look of the white against the glass table top and brown wreath. Needing height the concrete based urn new to the shops Spring decor was a must. The statement it makes is warm and welcoming.
Don't you love the detail on the base of the urn? Adding a bird's nest with a few eggs finished off the outdoor centerpiece.
The grapevine wreath that hangs on the house all year long got a new linen half bow and a few twigs, those are easily changed out as the seasons come and go. I pulled the lime green pillows along with the postage stamp pillow out of storage for a bit more color. It may be cold outside, at least the bench gives you a warm and welcoming feeling.

The popularity of lanterns is still hot in our area. They're a great decorating stable to use inside or outside your home. Inside this large lantern you'll find a white vase on a silver tray with a candle and a bit of greenery for a pop of spring color. Around the lantern I wrapped another twiggy vine found inside the shop.
Thanks so much for swinging by today to see what greets you as you pull up to the shop. Stay tuned for Part II of what you'll find inside.
A big thank you to Bonnie of Living With Thanksgiving alerting me to the fact blogger went all whopper on me and my post disappeared. I had gone to bed with a terrible migraine, hadn't those for years so wasn't aware the post was gone. I apologize for any inconvenience to those that receive these via email, twitter, and on kindle.
