~ A New Garden Stool For the Sunporch ~

Hello everyone, What a week it's been around here. With all the snow we've been having the Spring cleaning began early. Closets have been cleaned out, clothes ready to go to Goodwill, loads of things boxed up ready for the Annual Garage sale, well you get the picture. There have been tons of projects marked off the list, I'm so pleased with the way things are coming together around here.
Many of
you know I don't get a chance to get away from the house and go shopping often, when I do I have a tendency to just go wild. OK that's a huge exaggeration , but I do make the day count. Last year for my birthday my daughter gave me a gift certificate to one of my favorite shopping spots, Nell Hill's, first after my own shop. When I take Mr. P to the doctor if he's feeling well enough to sit in the car I try to swing by Briarcliff and get my Nell Hill's fix. Last month while at the doctor's I had purchased a couple of things, only to find when I got home they didn't sit evenly. I made a special trip back up to exchange them. If you've ever been to Nell Hill's at Briarcliff you can't just walk in and out, you've got to look around. If you haven't been I highly recommend the trip you won't be disappointed.

I've been pining for a garden stool for the sunporch for some time. Last year I "almost" purchased a lime green one, slapped my hands and told myself I didn't need it. The white garden stool caught my eye I knew right away it was going to find a new home in the sunporch. What better way to spend your gift certificate right?
See the beautiful addition? Isn't she perfect beside the wicker chair?  I love when I purchase something and it's the right fit, it is so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. What's a photo shoot with out a dog? Miss Scooter enjoys this room as much as I do.
Even with all the snow on the ground we know Spring is knocking at our door. I have to admit most of my bunnies stay out year round. My collection of bunnies started over 20 years ago, they don't take over the house completely, you will however find a rabbit somewhere in almost every room.
While switching a few things around, I moved the birdcage off the top of the lawyers bookcase to the antique wooden pedestal. The lantern came off the floor to the top of the lawyers bookcase, the move gave both more of a presence. To say nothing of clearing of some clutter on the floor. If you missed those posts you can find them  HERE and HERE. Wows-er what a difference moving furniture can make! lol Looking at these pictures my Betty's chair may have to be moved. I'll think on that one for a day or so.
The bird on the pedestal now resides inside the lantern, giving the top of the bookcase a bit more breathing room.
My Betty's chair was moved from beside the old icebox down to the far end of the room, Grandma's rocker went back into storage. I still can't seem to give up the rooster pillow, I know, I know.. it doesn't go with the decor. Maybe, just maybe; I'll do some on line shopping and find the perfect "bunny" pillow. :-))
After painting the laundry room walls, ( post coming soon) I chose not to rehang the plates in that room. After trying them in a couple of other rooms, I decided the sunporch needed them more. The picture and clock had "things" around them, just not the right feel I was going for. I'm still needing to add a couple of touches here and there, all in due time. You can view the before HERE. Looking back this is much better.

I couldn't resist sharing how the sun kept playing it's beauty across the room, it's been so cloudy here the last few days, any sun we get today is a blessing.

It looks like you've been going to town on the sunroom! It's so pretty, I would spend a lot of my time in there. I love the garden stool, I've been wanting one, too. I like it in white. And I love your bunny on the settee! Soon they will be everywhere! ;-D

Happy Weekend!

Lynne,
I L O V E your garden stool!!!
Your Sun Porch is such a warm, inviting space, dear friend!!! Appears Miss Scooter is soaking up all that sun, as well!!!
I adore putting the bird statue inside the lantern!!!
I, too, am a "Bunny Lover"!!! Most of my bunnies are kept year 'round in Studio One, but during the Spring they are moved to the upper level! (Which you'll be seeing, soon.)
Your bunny print over the sofa is breathtaking!!! I am quite smitten with your red couch...gorgeous!!!
Our SNOW from the storms is but a memory...bittersweet...but I, too, am busy with Spring Cleaning and preparing for a Seasonal change!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Lynn, I believe you must be the ENERGIZER BUNNY to go with your bunny motif. You are always rearranging and tweaking and I love it! Especially love the ferns on the floor by the wicker sofa...they seem to bring the outdoors right inside. Also, thanks so much for answering my question about the maidenhair fern!
Take care of yourself!

What a wonderful room, Lynne. It just invites you to sit down and relax. Love your new garden stool. I have got to make a trip to N.H.'s some time. You put into words exactly what I feel about shopping. A working gal doesn't get to go shopping often, so when she does, she'd better take advantage of the opportunity! laurie
