~ Sometimes It's the Little Things That Make Us Smile~

Hi everyone, I hope this finds you having a great day! It's a beautiful crisp winter day here. How's your week going so far, has it been a productive one? I've gotten loads of things done, many more to come, I'm slowly whittling down the to-do list for the month of January. We won't even talk about the February list. 

I know many of you are as busy as I am, getting furniture reupholstered, painting walls, refinishing furniture and the list goes on and on. Do you fall into any of those categories? I'm not planning anything large, just getting a paint colored picked out so I can start painting the kitchen. 

The days of doing anything
large around here is on the back burner, way on the back burner. However, that doesn't stop the wheels from turning at night, I dream often about doing some remodeling around here. In the mean time, I move my pretties around A LOT! Isn't it funny how the little things can put a smile on your face?

 Like a pair of silver pheasants resting on a black shelf?

Do you smile when you look at a silver serving set that's in desperate need of being polished?

How about a row of cream colored pitchers all lined up sitting and waiting for you to pull them out to use in a tablescape?

A row of blue and white Meakin makes me smile.

Do hunt theme plates make you smile?

I can even get a lop-sided smile looking at a plate that seems to have turned just enough, that I have to turn my head to look at it to make it look straight.

Silver and crystal always puts a smile on my face, small in size big on impact.

If only we could age as gracefully by using the sepia tone in an editing program.

Using an object meant as a Christmas ornament makes me smile.

More sepia, more graceful aging.

With out the sepia tone the silver candelabra is rich looking demanding more of a presence to the buffet.

With sepia tone it takes you back an era or two when candles were needed to enjoy quiet evenings.

If you put some of them all together you have a hutch of full of memories and cherished treasures. That's what makes a House a Home.
