~ A Green and White Table ~

With our temperatures being in the teens the last few days I wanted something more warm for our winter table. Something green instead of browns, golds or even the reds.
Even though I chose
green for our table, I didn't want the usual brown or even white candle sticks. I chose the sparkle and bling of my favorite mercury glass and silver.
Green goblets for our favorite beverage with the candles all a glow make the evening meal calming with a touch of romance.
Brown Rattan chargers add another texture to the layers of dishes. The ivy edged dishes were Mother's, I feel so fortunate to be the care giver of those until I pass them onto my daughter. The solid green dessert dish is a pattern made by Bordallo Pinheiro in Portugal, topped by the cereal bowl from Walmart. If you don't have a full set of dishes don't be afraid to mix and match patterns, the table can tell a story all it's own.

For more of a casual flair to the table I added loosing flowing twigs to the green vase.

The mixing and matching of fabrics adds another touch of interest to your table. If you can't find the napkin you're looking for make your own. If you missed my post on making your own napkins you can go HERE for that tutorial.
Candle light makes anything look good.

Hi Lynn! It's so beautiful! I love the greenery you have coming out of your mercury vase too. The mix of dishes you chose for this setting looks very cozy yet dressed up so nicely with the mercury glass. Great idea! I hope you are staying warm and the weather eases up in temperatures soon. Take care!

Beautiful!! I was so surprise to read that the bowl was a cereal bowl from Walmart!! You made managed to make an ordinary bowl look extraordinary with all of the beautiful things you paired it with!! Very nice!

I know that's right about candlelight making anything look good! It has even spruced ME up a time or two! :-) Very pretty, Lynne, and the perfect "pick-me-up" table for this time of year when we're in that weird in-between stage. January is always so....blah! But this is FAR from blah, baby!!! I love the wild, twisted twigs in the vase. That's a really cool look!

What a serene setting, Lynn. Your Mother's dishes are sooooo pretty and I love how you've stacked all the layers together. The mercury adds a subtle touch of glamor. I love the whole thing!

I'm really enjoying the greens on your table and especially your mom's beautiful dishes! Very clever to mix the elegant look of the mercury with the rustic twigs and the green glasses. Such a happy table! Linda

Your table is beautiful! I actually prefer to mix dishes instead of using a set. It makes the table more unique! Blessings, Tammy

Gorgeous! And so refreshing, with the various greens you included. How blessed you are to have your mother's pretty ivy-bordered plates! Did you mention the pattern name? I don't think I've seen that one before. Love your mix-and-match stack of dishes!

Lynne,
What an uplifting tablescape featuring green & silver, dear friend! I adore the mixing of plates and china patterns...Bordallo Pinhiero is a growing collection here On Crooked Creek! I spotted yours first photo or two!!! Candlelight glowing warms the heart, the home, the soul! I especially like how you've placed the centerpiece and candlesticks off to one side of your round table with the place settings next to each other. Nice touch!
Fondly,
Pat
