~ The Ever Changing Hutch ~

Hi everyone, can you believe another weekend is behind us? I hope you've had a great one. It's been pretty quiet around here, no surprise there. I've stayed busy with the cleaning out of closets and the usual. Have you done anything exciting? I would love to hear what you've been up to.

I know many of you have seen the hutch in the breakfast room like a GA-zillion times. With the kitchen being the working hub of the house I look at it A LOT through out the day. I know you know what I'm talking about here, it's an area you look at constantly, changing it up often runs through your mind right? Come on now tell me I'm not the only one that can't leave a vignette along for long.
You might remember I spoke
of doing some painting in the kitchen soon. This picture gives you a better idea of how dark the room actually is. To the left of the picture you can see the clock and time. It's been a gorgeous sunny day and still seems dark to me. I've looked at a few paint swatches and have narrowed it down I think to two. I'm in no hurry to begin the process, I don't want to start covering up all the red and then be disappointed with my choice. I'm still leaning towards a medium cream with a light gray cast. It's obvious I can't change all the trim and crown molding, although I dream of doing so, and the hutch is here to stay. I don't want the cream colored hutch to get lost against the wall color. I'll keep you posted when the color is narrowed down and the process begins. In the meantime
I'll continue to change the hutch up on a weekly basis. The beautiful blue and white platter was a treat to myself from Nell Hill's quite a while back. I snatched it from the entertainment center. I love being able to move things from one room to another to give the room a bit of a lift.
The three blue and white plates were purchased specifically for the spot above the hutch. Believe it or not it hasn't entered my mind to move them elsewhere.

Having your own retail store has it's advantages and disadvantages, you have to practice self control. When I purchase gift ware for the shop I purchase items I love hoping you're going to love them as much if not more than I do. There are times some of those items just have to go upstairs and become all mine. The crystal line I've introduced is one of those lines, it's a fast mover in the shop.

When we remodeled the kitchen about 10 years ago I knew I wanted a screen door to be used as the door for my pantry. The pantry is 5' x 7' and can hold a whole lot of that dishware you see featured on the tablescapes, I'll share the inside of the pantry again for you soon. On the front of the door I added an antique Colonial Bread sign. The day we found the sign was such a fun day, not sure if I'll ever share the antics that occurred, we'll just leave it at, it involved 4 people lots of laughter a chain saw, falling down and on and on. The platters on the wall were an addition a while back. You can go HERE to see that small metamorphosis.

I want to thank all of you that come by and try to leave a comment. For some reason my blog is constantly plagued with a pop up of some sort. I've researched and researched, reached out for help to no avail. The research I've done says it's not harmful to your computer, if in doubt always close it out. Thanks to all that email me to let me know, you know we love your comments and love sharing what you have to say with others. Hopefully, at some point someone will be able to tell me why my blog is always effected. At this time I'm at a loss do I close out this blog and start over? We're off for the day to take Mr. P to the doctor for a check up on his various conditions, I'm hoping to make a couple of stops after the tests are run, keep your fingers crossed it's been eons since I've had any retail therapy.

Oh I love your hutch, it is so beautiful and I love, love, love your vignette. You don't clutter it with tons of things, you let each item breath and shine. Elegant simplicity at it's best. Gorgeous. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

Hi Lynne! Oh, I never tire of seeing your gorgeous hutch. The shape is so pretty. I have to admit, sometimes I actually dream about what decorating I need to do somewhere! :) I love everything you do and can't wait to see what color you choose. Sometimes, I think my green painted breakfast room hutch kind of blends in with my yellow wall, but it's done and I'm not changing it any time soon.
I love seeing all the pretties from your shop. I know I'd have a hard time not wanting everything.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my Three Kings post, Lynne; it brought me to your fun post about changing vignettes. I love to change things around too, especially now that I get even more ideas from blogs I visit (like yours). Sometimes a post will remind me of something I have and could use that I didn't even remember I had! LOL. Your vignettes and china cabinet are lovely (especailly that platter!!).

Your hutch is gorgeous. Your glass or crystals are one of a kind. They are so beautiful special in the middle.

I had a problem recently too. All my fave bloggers list was gone, without notice or something. So depressing to stroll around the bloglandia and look for the ladies and hardly find them all.

Hope you sort it out soonest.

Greetings from a freezing Stockholm,

The hutch is gorgeous! I have walls a very similar color of red, and was wondering how my blue and white plates would look hanging there, now I know, perfect!
