After closing the shop for the day, most of my afternoons and evenings are busy spent playing catch up with household chores. Do you have those types of evenings? Or are you one to sit back relax and take time for yourself? Do you light a candle and let the world take you away?
The other afternoon late
I actually took some "me" time. I know, that doesn't happen too often. I gathered a few things and headed for the dining room.
Usually I'm a late afternoon coffee drinker, me and Maxwell House Coffee go back a long way. I decided a hot cup of tea was needed for the soul, something to help me unwind.
With a case of the munchies going on, cookies seem to fit the bill.
Even with the "me" time going on I can't just sit so why not take the time to enjoy a stroll through a good book.
My daughter knows how I'm longing to see the Biltmore. Recently she and g-son moved to N.C. about 20 minutes from the Biltmore, she's had the opportunity to visit this beautiful masterpiece a couple of times.
I feel so refreshed after taking a bit of time for "me". I highly recommend you taking a bit of time just for

Great idea Lynne! I guess I get to have more me time than I should but I'm all for a couple of cookies and some coffee in the afternoon for a pick me up!
Biltmore is on my to "go to" list too! I look forward to seeing it!

Your pictures are so pretty and peaceful...this is a perfect way to spend some time in the afternoon. I usually have a cup of tea in the evening, I love my Dunkin Donuts coffee throughout the day!
We have been to Asheville twice and stayed just minutes from the Biltmore. We toured it the first time we went and just really enjoyed it. The grounds are just as pretty as the mansion. You will love it!

Since Christmas, I've been way too busy for any "me" time. That cup of tea looks pretty tempting though. Come to think of it, I guess browsing my favorite blogs is really some of my "me" time. I enjoy watching what others are doing to their homes.
As far as the Biltmore...you MUST go! I have been twice, both times in late April. The gardens were absolutely breath taking, along with the drive there. I now would like to go in the summertime to see the gardens in bloom.
I would love to go to the Biltmore, I always think it would be so beautiful and breath taking...someday...and I know you will make it there too,,,

After dinner and the evening news in front of the fireplace, I usually end up playig the piano for awhile, taking a shower and playing scrabble on the computer. A cup of tea...not so much. I sometimes have trouble sleeping so am trying not to snack or drink anything stimulating before bed.
Boring evenings...for some. For me it's pure heaven!

I think watching Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs has made me think of enjoying a cup of hot tea. The cooler temperatures also brings it to mind.
It will be fun to visit your daughter and see the Biltmore. The greenhouse is amazing and there are tons of great antique shops nearby.
