A Prayer for Newtown, Christmas in the Laundry Room

I'll start this post today by saying I'm still, as many of you, in a state of shock over the last few days events. The horror, disbelief and lack of understanding of how a person can harm innocent children leaves a black cloud over my heart. There is no possible motive that can ever come to light to make any sense of this tragedy. I pray our loving Father gives their families and all those effected the needed strength. May we all become more loving and caring with our own families.
I think I'm officially finished with all the Christmas decorating as Mr. P laughs in the background and says, "a right." Oh he knows me so well, about the time I think I'm done I come up with another idea and a spot I haven't quite touched with some holiday cheer. Do you ever do that? Or is it just me?
It's no secret
my latest passion is my love of lanterns.  I have a "few" in my ever growing collection. The laundry room in the past has always been showered with snowmen, and lots of them. TRYING to keep to the less is more decorating this year I opted to bring in the large lantern from the sun porch. If you haven't purchased a lantern, trust me once you buy one you'll have to have another and another. The versatility it adds to your vignettes can be stretched from the inside to the outside of your home.
The iced holly picks, snowball picks and a few lights flow around the base of the lantern. Adding weight and height to the inside of the lantern I chose a black cast iron urn with it's own small tree.

Thank you so much for stopping in, I hope you all have a fabulous day.

Dear Lynne, but of course I do that..continue tweaking long after I say I am finished! So much fun!
I know I shouldn't, but I am off to Home Goods today. It will be my first time in the store so I hope it is well stocked.
I love your lantern. I have one but it's hung out on the patio..perhaps a pretty bow would inhance it. :) YOU are always an inspiration.

The Sandy Hook school tragedy is foremost in everyones heart right now. The poor sick young man who committed this..devastation. How tortured his soul must have been! God help him!

Lynne, I also thought about decorating the laundry room but was afraid the things would fall off if the washer or dryer was vibrating at all:) Yours looks AWESOME!!!! I LOVE that lantern. My hubby started a lantern collection many years ago (before they were so popular). Glad to hear Mr. P. is OK. XO, Pinky
