~ First Glimpse of Christmas in the Kitchen ~

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love all the decorating, the hustle and bustle, Christmas carols playing and as in years past snow. This year I've struggled a tad getting into the Christmas spirit. It finally hit the other day and I got busy gathering my thoughts and Christmas decor.
I got a great line
of Christmas florals in the shop this year. Each year the improvement of how realistic they look amazes me. I fell in love with the berry twigs and had to snatch a few for my own decor.

I pulled my elements together and decided to keep it simple this year. Not over the top. My daughter, grandson and Miss Isabelle the dog will be here for almost 12 days, yippee skippy! I don't want to worry about all my decor being in their way, I want to enjoy each and every minute they are home.
The end of the counter seems to be the starting point each year.
Putting the vignette together didn't take long, I liked the effect, simple with a touch of elegance from the mercury candlesticks and crystal basket. I've had the small beautifully shaped trees for many years, I knew I wanted to use them some where this year. Again, simple no ornaments or lights, just the beauty of the tree.
Not too bad huh? Then it hit me. Yikes ! The blue was standing out like a sore thumb.
Shopping the house I latched upon the cream colored urn. Perfect! The flow was much better, the tree showed off it's true beauty.

The contrast between the deep green of the tree and the creamy white of the urn is incredible.
A gal's gotta have her bling right? I've been collecting mercury glass for years, put together with the rough texture of the urn and elegance from the crystal basket and you can say W-O-W all day long. lol

Much better don't you think?

Sweet and simple. So pretty! BTW I am giving several sets of napkins with contrasting fabric (from your tutorial) for Christmas gifts this year. I also made some for myself.
