~ A Lazy Sunday Afternoon ~

Well the storms moved through all day yesterday and late into last night. Thankfully no damage this go around, the ferns are still hanging on the front porch swaying back and forth through the slight gusts of winds we're having today. It's a lazy, cloudy afternoon here in Missouri, perfect for drinking coffee and enjoying a few of the sweet treats I've bought for the ghosts and goblins that will stop by the end of the month. You know I'm going to have to purchase more, Mr. P and I cannot keep our hands out of them.
 I usually run errands
on Mondays. This past week I couldn't by pass the magazine isle. It seems to be a magnet to me, especially this time of the year. The magazines are full of beautiful holiday decor. I discovered a new magazine. Christmas Cottage. Have you seen it yet? Oh my gosh, it's one of those have to have magazines. It is gorgeous from the front cover to the back. I'll share a few highlights with you, just to tempt you a bit more.
The magazine shares great treatments for decorating your front entrance. You all know that's the first thing everyone sees before entering your home. Doll it up, make it scream come on in.

For most homes a tree in the entrance way is impractical, I don't have an entry way large enough to accommodate a tree, pretty just the same huh?
A wreath loaded with pine cones spritzed with silver so pretty.
If I could win a kitchen make over, this would certainly fit the bill. Don't you love the bank of windows at the kitchen sink? {drool} The black granite counter top grounds the beautiful Christmas greenery and candle urns.

You'll find beautiful vignettes inside hutches. I love the candies sprinkled here and there.

Don't forget to give your bedrooms a touch of Holiday cheer. I love the primitive bench all decked out.
I love apothecary jars almost as much as I love cloche domes. I don't have as many apothecary jars as cloche domes ( trust me my friends that's probably a really good thing). I love all the candies on the buffet decorated with Christmas candies. It's a happy spot to let your eyes land.
Another pitcher used as a still life setting. Gorgeous!
A beautiful mantle decorated with fresh greens. I love the picture about the mantel.
From the front of the magazine to the back cover you'll find nothing but beauty and tons of inspiration. I know we're enjoying the fall season with all of our pumpkins and mums, it's never too early to look ahead. I hope you head out and find Christmas Cottage, it's a magazine worth buying.
It's time for another cup of coffee and a few more caramels. :-))
I encourage everyone
to find what makes
you happy and useful
Embrace it and
make it work
for you.
Until next time....
Hugs ~ Lynne ~

Lots of inspiration - thanks for sharing! I have been trying to be good and not go near the magazine racks these days. We had a chance of storms earlier, but things calmed down before they got this far. I also have been indulging in the treats.:)
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

I have never seen that magazie, Lynne, but am going to look for it. The pictures are all beautiful. Love the IDEA of a tree right inside the front door but, no, not real practical. Good for a photo shoot, LOL! Thans for telling me about it. Maybe my bigger grocery store will have it??? XO, Pinky
