~ The Harvest Table ~

Happy Fall Everyone!

It's the first day of fall according to the Equinox. This is the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator- that imaginary line in the sky above the Earth's equator- you know the one that runs from the north to the south.  For many of us it's another excuse to put our heavy fall decorating shoes and get busy, put out that fall decor and enjoy cool crisp breezes, the feel and sound of crunching leaves under our feet as we take long afternoon walks, the scent of a fall candle burning and curling up with a good book.
Last week my girlfriend surprised me with an early Christmas gift.
A beautiful chippy, unsteady sitting harvest table. You see we had been discussing that I would love to find on for the sun porch/shop to do tablescapes on and use for a display in the shop. It was like it was made to order just for little 'ole me. I believe her FIL made it for her MIL possibly in the 60's. I feel so blessed to be the caregiver of it for as long as I have a place for it.
I moved all the items I had gathered together, you can see those HERE, out to the sun porch to put together a harvest setting if you will of pumpkins and fall decor. I have several squirrels I've collected over the course of the years, ranging from very small to this beauty that's about 15" tall. I'm sorry the pictures are so dark, I could not get a decent shot to show off his cuteness.
Gathering the urns, spanish moss, a few leaves I began building the table. The large pumpkin on the black urn is cast iron, quite heavy makes quite a statement. See my beautifully worn, chippy edged table? I love, love, love my new old table.

I encourage everyone to find
what makes you feel
happy and useful,
embrace it and
make it work
for you!
