~ And So It Begins ~

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying the last official weekend of Summer. It's a gorgeous weekend here, I should be outside working, I "might" throw that in later if I get a few more things done inside, I started trimming bushes the other day before all the beautiful rain, that project needs to be finished. There's always a list of "things to do" around here, do you keep lists?
I made a quick trip to the grocery store this a.m.
and ran across these beautiful mums, not large in size a perfect fit for putting here and there. I popped one inside the blue and white fish bowl. The gorgeous creamy white blooms add some life to the tabletop.

I love pulling out the lanterns this time of year. Although the candles are "ok", I already have one candle on the table and another up above the lantern I don't need to smother the area with candles.

The creamy white pumpkin is the perfect choice, not too much, just enough to say fall.
I thought about adding some Spanish moss to the bottom, I chose not to, I didn't want to cover up the rich bronze base of the candle.

The shelf was needing a bit of tweaking as well, it's a little off balance since I started moving things around.

Isn't he cute?

Are you decorating this weekend?

Looks good - like your touches of Fall. Like your kind of squirrel the best - the real ones are over populated around here and it is unsafe to walk outside with the nut shells falling out of the tree. I was trying to remember the other day what I have to work with, as don't want to buy any new decor right now.
Have a great week.

Such a pretty Vignette Lynne! I found a similar lantern at Goodwill that the solar candle isn't working. I think I will pull it out and do a pumpkin or something similar like you did! Great idea!

It is a lovely vignette. I am trying to make myself wait till September 15 to switch mine out, but am having a hard time not jumping in now, despite our 105 degree heat index prediction!

Lynne this is gorgeous! All my favorite lanterns are at the lake along with some other stuff that didn't get loaded up to bring home. Will have to get them next time we are there.

I think Lori has or did have little squirrels in her shop. Might have to see if she still has them.:-)

You inspire me!

Lynne, I love all of your fall touches! I need to bring my lanterns in, as we haven't been sitting out much, since the West Nile scare started. I love your mums! So pretty! You have done a wonderful job of bringing in the season!
