~ Happy May Day ~

Happy May Day Everyone, Can you believe it's May already? My goodness this year is flying right along. Do you have any plans for today? Are you going to surprise your neighbors with May Day baskets? I miss the days when the grandchildren were small and we would be surprised with the doorbell ringing, no one there to find a beautiful basket they had put together. {sigh}
My original plan was to have the tea party on the front porch. With all the rain we've had it's a bit cool out there. So please come in and stay a while.
The tea set is on my favorites, purchased many years ago at Cracker Barrel.

Please help yourself to a cup of tea.
The Aladdin style sugar bowl always make me smile. The curved handles almost appear as though they were an after thought when it was made.

Whimsical and airy as if they're outside blowing in the wind.
Thinking outside the box instead of a basket I went with the vintage metal bucket for the flowers. The mix of vintage, porcelain and lace adds a variety of textures to a flat table.
Love the handle.

Please help yourself to a cookie,  Mr. P still has plenty inside. He said I got a good "do" on this batch. Sometimes he says the funniest things.

The statues came from Walmart last fall on sale, I recall giving $4.99 for each of them. The little guy reminds me of my grandson and his love for his dog Miss Isabelle.
You know I had to get the little girl because of the bunny.
Nothing like a good book while enjoying cookies with a cup of hot tea.

Thank you for stopping in to say hello. Your sweet comments always touch our hearts. It is because of you I do what I do. Until next time....

It all looks so pretty. I really love your tea set. The wicker chair looks cute the way you have it set up. Wish I lived closer, I would come and have tea with you.

Your tea set is so pretty, Lynne! I love Cracker Barrel and their shops. This looks so inviting and cozy! Love the flowers!

It's pouring rain here, too. We need it though so I'm not complaining. It feels like April/May finally!

Have a great week!

XO,
Jane

I think that is one of the prettiest patterns on a tea set around. Your tea would be lovely to sit down to and the cookies look delicious.
I love your throw pillow too!

Dear Lynne, I remember the days of May Baskets and knocking on the neighbors doors! It was so much fun to run away giggling because I had left a May Basket. Innocent days.

Your post is lovely.

A book or books on decorating porches?? Heavens, who would have thought! See? I am so far behind the times. I need one to see what improvements I can do to mine..heaven only knows I need some help. Plastic over a window..right on my porch?
Ok..now..the tea set...oh, and is that MY cup of tea or yours. :)
How beautiful it all looks..the color of the walls..nearly fainted of a sensory overload when I saw that gorgeous color. My favorite this year.
Just lovely, dear Lynne, just lovely!
And the cookies were delish!! :)
Hugs,
Mona

Lynne, such a beautiful, relaxing setting. Great books, beautiful china, yummy tea...I think I'll stay a while and read all these books. Hope you don't mind. I'll be quiet, sipping my tea and reading. ;) Glad the rain has let up a bit. I bet your garden is growing up a storm this year.

Hi Lynne!

Your post has put me in a nice relaxing mood... thanks for inviting me for tea! I think Mr.P is spot on, because those cookies look yummy!

Your CB tea set is just the prettiest ever! I do miss that store. Not the restaurant food so much... but all the old fashioned candies is another thing!

The last time I received a May Day basket was over 30 yrs ago when my mother drove over 15 miles to surprise me with one in the early morning hours. But of course she was also returning the girls from an overnight visit...

It is raining here today, too, and boy do we need it! It's been nearly two weeks, very unusual in our area.

This looks so inviting and so much more civilized than my current set up with the coffee and the computer. I am still in my jammies with the laptop, but I did just have a peanut butter cookie with the coffee and called it breakfast.

The lace draped over the wicker chair is soooo pretty!

I just adore your tea set. My favorite thing however is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pillow. Where did you ever buy that? It would look perfect on my needlepoint chair. My Cavalier, Bella who is two years old looks just like the pillow.

Lynne, that is such a unique tea set. I love the design. My favorite is your metal bucket. I love the different textures on your pretty table. It is so appealing.

Hi Bella, I'm so glad you stopped by, glad you loved the tea set. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pillow came from Touchstone I believe about 3 years ago. I haven't seen any on there for a while, lots of other dog styles. I'll keep my eye for you, if I run across any I'll shoot the information your way... hugs ~lynne~
