Even though I chose to go semi-simple this year I like to use layers. Layering the pumpkin plate in front of the cream platter gives it more presence. If you want to showcase your plates try this technique you'll be amazed at the difference it will make in your vignette.

~ The Kitchen Gets A Bit of Fall ~
The fireplace in the kitchen is always a fun place to decorate, not large in size I can either go over the top or keep it semi-simple. Sometimes less is more, in this case I think the pumpkins and plate speak for themselves.

Lynne, I love it! The plate in front of the platter is a great idea! Looks almost 3D!
Lou Cinda :)
One of the prettiest mantels I've seen. I love the picture behind it also.
Very pretty mantel. I'm going for the theory of less is more this year, but I keep dragging more stuff out of storage, so who knows what it will look like by Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the tip to LAYER plates! Love that idea and am gonna try it tomorrow! Love your fireplace Fall touches. It looks so pretty. Love the ceramic pumpkin and gourd! XO, Pinky
Beautiful! Love the way you layered the plates in the one stand! Great idea! And I really like the rabbit print, too! :)
Your kitchen is so welcoming and festive, Lynne! I like your layering techniques!
It's very pretty Lynne! I love the pumpkins and thanks for the tip on layering. It definitely makes the other plate pop!
I hope you're having a good week.

Oh dear! I have heard "less is more" so many times, but for me ...it just does not work. However..your fireplace is lovely..simply lovely! (why can I not get that simple rule through my head??)
So pretty Lynne! I only wish I had a kitchen big enough for a fireplace.*winks* Vanna
